"Dan came our house as scheduled and gave us an estimate for replacing our electrical panel. He was the only person giving an estimate for us who removed the cover of the panel and actually looked inside. He was very professional and thorough and took time to answer our questions. After we decided to have J Bathe do the work for us, we called and set up a day for the work to occur. Bill was the electrician who did the work for us. He was very courteous and professional and completed the work as scheduled. He even added an outlet for us under the electrical panel. We did not request this and it was a pleasant surprise to see he had done it. Also, the original estimate assumed that the electrical meter would need to be replaced. It was agreed by Bill and the Amren representative who came out to turn off the power to our house that the meter was still useable and did not have to be replaced. Bill was able to reduce the total amount for the work by $100 to compensate us for the not having to replace the meter. We were also easily able to contact Sherry, who schedules jobs, or Dan as needed. At no time did we feel we had been forgotten or ignored. We would definitely use J Bathe Electric again."

"Consistent, professional, personable… No notes! We contracted Loveland Home Solutions to update our aging home’s electrical system. (update panel, install new recessed lighting, add some new outlets, install surge protectors, etc.) Their responsiveness and professionalism exceeded expectations from bidding to work to follow up. Brendin was great at follow up, answering questions and helping us find the best solution for us. Austin and his team were great and respectful of our home and their work precise and thoughtful. They weren’t the cheapest bid in the pile, but the little extra in our mind was WELL worth the peace of mind and confidence to have true professionals on the job. We will definitely use LHS again and whole heartedly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done. Great job guys - thank you!"

"Joe was more than amazing. He was informative and very knowledgeable. He was a super nice guy and stayed way longer than I expected him to (on a Sunday) , but he told me he wasn't going until he had everything done for my power to be turned back on. I was not just impressed by him as a person and his knowledge, but by his work and work ethics. My old breaker box had wires crossed all over the place. When he was finished, my new one had every wire going straight down and over to the breakers; nothing crossed or twisted. I would not only highly recommend Mr. Electric, but I would recommend Joe! (No offense to the other employees) Totally satisfied and grateful for the service I got as our neighborhood was recovering from a tornado that Friday."

"Ron, our installer, was absolutely wonderful! He arrived on time, was pleasant, and efficient. Ron worked on New Year's Eve, was close to finishing his job, but could have stretched it into the next day. Rather than leaving us "in the dark," he worked until the job was completed that day. We appreciate all the hard work from Ron! We definitely recommend Reinhold for any of your electric needs!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Wildwood, MO

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
