"So far, so good on our beautiful new concrete steps and walkway. Day 2 of the job still remains, but we are very happy with the work that Sara's is doing. The manager, Jose, is easy to work with. Up front pricing. Job exceeded expectations. Workers were professional and friendly. Will hire again."

"-Everything went as planned <br /> -Total time was bout (2) days <br /> -Entire area was left clean and neat <br /> Tom built a portion of the retaining wall about two years ago. We recently installed a deck and wanted to finish the retaining wall. He did great work the first time and did again this time. It all blends together perfectly. What an amazing job. <br /> Note: We had heavy rain last year as everyone in this area did. The original retaining wall stayed put! <br /> I would recommend Tom to anyone that wants to build a retaining wall."

"Rob is a great guy. I also bought two trees from him 10 years ago and they are beautiful. He recommended someone to put them in and the guy did a great job and was very professional. I really like Rave's and would recommend shopping for plants, flowers, trees and shrubs. <br />"

"they quickly returned my call and got in touch with a nursery in order to give me an estimate on the cost and got back to me the next day with all the info to make my decision. unfortunately it was already too late in the year to plant trees. she did give me an estimate on the work i needed done, but i found the price a bit high. <br />"

"Everything went well. All equipment needed was present and coordinated to chip the debris and limbs, to carry large lumber away, to provide mechanical power and leverage to tilt tree stumb as needed, and to lift workers into trees. With all the equipment used and the efficiency of the task, it seemed well worth the cost. We received a bonus as the maple tree was somewhat entangled in two nearby dead ash trees, so they were removed also for the cost of the one large tree removal. A good deal all around. Thanks to Zane "Freeman" Grim the "Treeman.""

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Wilkes Barre, PA

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
