"Rick and his staff are always delightful to work with, he is a true professional and a very talented landscaper and hardscape installer. We have known and worked with Rick off and on over twenty years, you know that someone is reliable, trustworthy and does a great job when they are called back, once, twice and three times as more projects develop over the years. We appreciate his knowledgeable and extremely friendly manner and his reliability to get the job done timely and beautifully! I do always highly recommend him."

Small jobs welcome

"Robbie did a thorough job of excavating the patio area, laying down gravel and a barrier. I was away the week he started; my neighbor reported he was out there for many hours completing that part of the work. He offered his opinion on enlarging the raised beds surrounded by the patio, advice that resulted in a more esthetically pleasing result, for a very reasonable fee. The finished product is very attractive and has really improved the look of the back yard."

"Exceptionally well!! We had to do time and material and that is always some risk with a new contractor. Throughout this reconstruction job, I could only think and quot;I am really getting my money's worthand quot;. Jeremy Lucia is competent, thorough, efficient, and cleans up to keep his workplace orderly. He and his helper work together as a fine team. Jeremy is excellent to work with and is trustworthy. The quality of my work at completion was excellent. For masonry, stone work, patios and the like, I would wait in line to get his services. Prior to engaging Lucia Masonry, I had two independent recommendations from folks in the construction business to seek out Jeremy Lucia for this (somewhat complex) job. His website at gives an indication of the breadth of his capabilities: http://www.luciamasonry.com/ <br /> The price above covered both labor and materials."

"First, we hired them to give us a plan; but they fit into our budget, so did the job for us as well. It wasn't a big job for them, but it was a major for us. It was only a 3-day job for them; but normally, they do 3-4 months job. They fit us in between a couple of jobs. They got us in very quickly. It was so fast. We can't say enough about these guys. These guys were so professional. Whenever we went out to the lawn, they would explain us what they were doing and they would give us the timeline. We never felt that we were bothering them if we were out there. They worked meticulously. They were so well trained. These guys were absolutely craftsmen. Every single person who came out to the property was polite and was professional. They did an amazing job."

"We received a written estimate and a description of the scope of the work. We were advised to go to a stone and masonry yard to pick out the blocks and pavers that we liked best. Vermont Stone came on the date they said and started work leveling the area for the walkway. <br /> After the path and retaining wall were finished, they brought in topsoil to finish the area. <br /> We are extremely pleased with the work and will certainly hire them again next time. <br /> Vermont Stone 472 Lamplite Lane, Williston, VT 802-999-8934 <br /> www.VermontStone.com <br />"

"It was an excellent experience. We dealt with 4 other contractors because of busted water pipe and would not use them again. Cedar Creek were very professional, timely, neat and did not take breaks every hour. We would call Cedar Creek again for any work that we need done. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Williston, VT

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
