"Did a great job removing the existing ceramic tiles from my basement kitchen concrete floor, leveling it and installing luxury vinyl floor planking. Also removed carpet from my family room, a bedroom and pantry and installed luxury vinyl floor planking. They completed the work in 4 days. Total square footage of flooring 1,100 square feet. The new flooring looks amazing!"

"Excellent! This company is outstanding! I recommend them highly above all others. Price-wise, they were in the middle of the three flooring stores we visited, but I was happy to pay a little extra for such excellent service. It truly was outstanding and one of the best experiences you can have with construction in your house. Their installers are longtime employees, not contractors, which is very important and makes a huge difference. They showed up exactly when promised, they moved all our furniture in and out of the rooms they were working on, they did a beautiful job, and they completed the work exactly in the time they promised to have it done. The owner himself came out first with samples so we could match the flooring in the hallway exactly, and he did the measuring as well. As soon as they got the wood from the factory they delivered it right away, and after it had a few days to acclimate in the house we got right on the schedule and they started the work. Also, many years ago we had hired them to put carpet in a room in our old house and again that was a great experience. Go here!!"

"I would recommend this company.  Installation was very quick and well done.  The carpet quality is excellent.  Customer service is very good - they helped us select a carpet type that met our need (i.e., low traffic room).  Would use these guys again in the future. <br /> <br />"

"Very well, would use again. Was particularly impressed with a creative solution to a flooring problem. Concrete under carpet was cracked and very uneven, installer found a way to level it without massive work and expense."

"I have been a member of Angie's List for over a year and I've had good success. For some reason, finding someone to do this job was extremely difficult until I finally found D'Agostino Carpets. <br /> My daughter recently took up the carpet in her bedroom and the transition to the hallway was compromised. That cause the rugs in the hallways to get and quot;wavyand quot; so I needed to get it fixed. I used Angie's list to find recommended contractor and left messages with several of the vendors. No one called me back. I then tried using the message capability within Angie's list and not one of the recommended companies responded. I continued to move down the list until I was almost at the bottom. I was finally able to speak to one person who told me he was too busy for a small job and would call me back when things slowed down. <br /> At the very bottom of the list, I found D'Agostino Carpets. I have no idea why he was so far down - maybe he doesn't pay for advertising? He had a few reviews (A Rating) so members have used him in the past. He was also a lot closer to my home then the other and quot;suggestionsand quot;. I placed only one call to D'Agostino's and it was returned within 30 minutes. Mike came over, gave me an estimate, and repaired everything within one week of my initial call. <br /> Mike was very professional and the work was done to my complete satisfaction. No job is too small and he takes pride in his work. I am planning to purchase carpets for my family room soon and he will certainly be getting my business. If you need carpet repair, or need to buy new carpets and have them installed, I highly recommend skipping to the bottom of the list to find this quality contractor. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Wilmington, DE

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
