"So I gave a C rating but honestly my experience was worse. I chose to gave a C because I understand that during the pandemic home contracting work has spiked and most of these folks are really busy. That being said.. I contacted RBM through Angies list on 8/14 and they responded saying they would love to come give me an estimate asking me for my address, I gave them my availability and asked when they would like to come out to give me the estimate but did not receive a reply. On 8/18 I receive an "OK" message but nothing else. On 8/19 I responded again and asked if they still were interested in coming out and giving me an estimate and they responded "YES". So I again provided my availability and was told to text the address to a phone number "978-87X-XXX8" (I blocked out part of the number for privacy reasons). I texted the requested information and received back "OK". On 8/24 after five days of silence on both Text and Angie's list, I again sent a message trying to follow up with getting the estimate but did not receive a response. As of 9/14 I still have not received response to my communication on 8/24. I am disappointed because honestly if they had just communicated that "Hey we are too busy" I would have understood. ANYTHING would have been preferable to the silence I received. I am sure they are probably great people but right now my personal grade for them is "F", I rated them a "C" because I did not experience any loss other than time and have since accepted the bid from another contractor for the work. Do better, the next person to bother leaving a review may give you the "F" you deserve if you treat them the same way."

We provide no-cost home energy efficiency assessments to determine the efficiency of your homes energy efficiency. We will then create a report on-site and explain the recommendations and rebates we offer through the Mass Save program.
"I would NEVER recommend this company. They should not be representing Mass Save. The person that came to my house lied about everything he told me. Then the insulation people messed up my sprinkler system installing insulation in my cellar. The prices I was quoted for a hybrid hot water heater were completely out of line, by thousands of dollars. The information I was given regarding mini splits was totally incorrect. I repeat do not have this company come to your house!!"

"We can't say enough about Vieira Painting. Nivaldo contacted us the same day we left a message on his service and gave us an extremely competitive bid on much-needed repairs and painting of our home's exterior. He identified, replaced, and painted rotting shingles and wood trim and repaired a damaged gutter. Nivaldo was on-site at all times, working alongside his polite, professional team. "Michael and his crew built a large addition to our house on what was once a walk up attic. The homeowners supplied approved prints, engaged the architect, and handled processing a variance with the city. Michael acquired the permit and provided the building/contracting services. The permit was acquired in August, work did not begin until November, and the permit was closed in September the following year. Overall, Michael’s direct employees (foreman, carpenters, and painters) did a good job; finish work was excellent. However, his subcontractors (plumbing, HVAC, electrician) repeatedly caused substantial trouble and showed a lack of care/understanding in their work. Plumbers shouldn’t pretend to be electricians, and HVAC contractors should engineer their install and follow manufacturer’s specifications - it’s not a guessing game. Michael himself was at times easy to deal with and understanding (like when our attic was flooded causing damage to the lower two floors), and other times patronizing and seemingly unaware of his own subs schedules. Poor project planning early on w/material lead times (windows) lead to no attic insulation over the winter & a pest infestation. Quoting & invoicing from Michael had double counted items and was obviously copied over from a previous project, while leaving out key items such as masonry work. Multiple mistakes set the project back and cost us time, sanity, comfort, and money (some of which was reimbursed). The list includes: frying the main thermostat (multiple times), shorting out the boiler control board, reversing hot/cold water lines, leaving water to the house mostly shutoff, the list goes on… None of these problems were identified by the contractors but left for us (homeowners) to discover in a string of unfortunate test scenarios during the evening. To Michael’s credit most were fixed reasonably quickly. The HVAC subs were probably the most consternating, repeatedly demonstrating a lack of understanding in their own profession which at several points nearly derailed the entire project. As the last laugh the project was ‘finished’ without ever testing the heat in the new 3rd floor, and the A/C system still struggles with low cooling demands. We would not recommend hiring them for a major addition. We do not trust their subcontractors. If you have a simple painting, carpentry, bathroom, or kitchen renos they can probably handle it."
