"Wonderful service, very friendly. Brian was great and answered all of my questions. I now can feel comfortable knowing I have a secure water main ball valve and can shut off when I need for a water leak or any remodeling/repairs."

"The job went Extremely Well! Work Performed June 12, 2019 This was my first time looking for a truly real, qualified plumber, because I could no longer trust the work of pseudo plumbers. I had a busted indoor basement pipeline that connected to an outdoor spigot, that caused quite a bit of water damage in my basement, so I needed to find the best plumber, at a reasonable price, and a company that would apply the diagnostic charge to the total charge of the work done. I spent several hours researching plumbing companies, reviewed a great deal of customers’ reviews on each company, and I called a few that had the best reviews. One of my initial calls was to Archer Plumbing Company. The phone was answered promptly by Allan, a very pleasant man (a good sign). I explained what was going on, he asked a few questions, and was able to quote a ballpark figure of what it might cost. I told him I had to make a few more calls before I could decide on a company, but so far, they seemed to be the best, and met all my requirements. In the end, Archer Plumbing was the number one choice by far. I called Allan back and scheduled an appointment. The next day I called and changed the scheduled date to an earlier date, and Allan was very flexible and accommodating. Allan called on June 12, the scheduled date, to let me know that the plumbers were on their way. Chuck and Matthew arrived promptly. I was happy that they had shoe covers (thumbs up), so I didn’t have to offer mine. Chuck was very knowledgeable, proficient and efficient. Both were very polite and pleasant. In addition to replacing the busted pipeline and spigot, they replaced the toilet fill valve and seal in two toilet tanks, and Chuck gave me some general, helpful maintenance tips, as well as addressed a few of my concerns with future plumbing projects. I was very pleased that the cost was within the ballpark figure that Allan had quoted for the busted pipe repair. Needless to say, I highly recommend Archer Plumbing. First impression and experience are lasting! I admire their honesty and integrity. I have already recommended Archer Plumbing to my friends and family. This company exceeds customers’ expectations in all areas of service. They deliver Five Star Service, at a reasonable price, and they offer a one year warranty on their work. Archer Plumbing has gained a new loyal customer. Blessings on the company! Cynthia O"

"Don was great and was very reasonably priced. I told him what some of the big name plumbing companies quoted me and he literally laughed out loud. Being a single female I feel like most contractors will charge outrageous amounts because they think I will pay whatever. Don is not like this he is an honest and trust worthy man. When I ever need any plumbing jobs in the future he will be the first guy I call."

"We recently bought a  home that had been vacant for years.  We noticed water coming up in the basement, and used our own auger to try and clear the sewer line.   The cable got stuck in the sewer line.  I called Tischbein to see if they could do a video of the line to see what it was stuck on, fearing the entire thing had collapsed as there are 3 large, old trees in the front yard. They came out and did video of the line which revealed a TON of roots, but no damage.  They got the stuck cable out and used 3 different sized cables/cutters to get the roots cleared.  They had everything they needed to get the job done.  I called several other companies before deciding on Tischbein, and the fact that they specialize in sewer issues, not general plumbing made all the difference.  My only complaint is that I was given a $25 Angie's list discount, not the 10% discount advertised. <br />"

"When I woke up to find no water flow in the house, I found Tom Wuerderman of B & D Plumbing through Angie's List. Tom came out in a couple of hours and assessed the problem quickly, and got the water running to hold us until the next day. Tom provided two estimates for the repair, one as a less expensive short-term fix, and another one as a better choice update. SInce the water system was out of date and needing component replacement, we made the better choice. Tom returned the next morning and removed an unneeded holding tank, installed a larger bladder tank and new pump, and rearranged the layout in an efficient way that resulted in some bonus storage space. Now the pump doesn't need to run as often and will last longer as a result. Tom is a knowledgeable plumber who worked efficiently and explained everything thoroughly as he performed the job. He was very accommodating in removing the old components and setting them aside so I could salvage the materials. The price for this work was very reasonable and appropriate. To complete his good service, Tom called the next day to make sure the installation was working properly. I would give my highest recommendation for B&D Plumbing to anyone needing this kind of service. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Wilmington, OH

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
