"Jordan was polite and friendly. He responded to my calls promptly and answered all my questions and concerns. He and his crew were hard working even with temperatures over 100 degrees that week. Our fence was complete in 4 days and we now have a safe place for our dogs and chickens . No worries."

"I scheduled time with him over the phone and he arrived as expected, which is a good start since some others have been no shows.
Awhile after arriving, he mentioned he is having personal family issues that has caused him to lose sleep for several days.
He was very distracted and was getting confused with how to install the back plate on smoke detectors and getting them mixed up trying to install the wrong plate on the wrong detector, so it would not fit.  Eventually he figured it out and got them matched up.
I had forgot to explain which room the unique smoke detector was to go into and he had already started installing the wrong detector in that location.  So, I asked him to switch it and put the matching detectors in the bedrooms and the different one in the hallway.
I thought he was doing that, but somehow the detectors got mixed up again and still were installed in wrong rooms and I didn't notice until he had already left.
The deadbolt lock was physically installed in the door lock  and "looked" fine as did the painting, but when I started pressing buttons to try to program the codes for the lock, none of the buttons worked.  Somewhere an installation step had been missed or done out of order (batteries were not supposed to be installed until the lock was fully installed). I thought he was following the instructions would have tested the keypad before leaving so I didn't check it until he had driven off.
So, I called him and told him the lock wasn't working and that he didn't need to come right back and could wait until the next morning since he obviously needed to sleep so he could think more clearly.
He came back the next afternoon and fixed the lock and swapped the smoke detectors where I asked.  He made a comment that I should have put the detectors in the rooms where I wanted them to go ahead of time.  He also reinstalled the lock and it then started working normally.
He was rushing and kind of rough with the equipment letting the lock housing dangle by wire and I was getting concerned that the wire connection may get damaged.
He was in so much of a rush to get out of the house ASAP this time that as soon as I said the basic lock functions are now working and I would figure out programming the rest of it on my own, he took off in a flash in such a hurry that he forgot to grab his tools and ladder and had to come back to the door to retrieve them.
Due to his current family issues, this could be a "bad day," but this is the only day I have used him and this is my experience.  I don't know if it would be different in a month from now.
I am satisfied that he came back to correct the work and therefore did not give a D of F grade, but I didn't like the experience and I feel I most likely overpaid at least an extra hour of labor due to him working more slowly in a daze on the first day and making mistakes in his sleep-deprived state when he was being paid by the hour at a high hourly rate.  The work that was done probably could have been done in 1 or 2 hours less time if someone who was fresh was doing the work.
Then I was irritated that he was rushing the job when he came back to fix the errors since he wan't getting hourly pay this time.

FAQs for vinyl or pvc fence installation projects in Wilton, CA

The difference between PVC and vinyl fencing is nonexistent because PVC is simply a type of vinyl used in fence construction. Both terms describe a durable, low-maintenance material that resists rust and rot. This product is engineered for long-lasting performance, offering a reliable solution that meets both functional and aesthetic requirements.

You’ll get long-lasting, low-maintenance panels that won’t rust or rot, and you’ll find a wide range of colors and designs that are easy to install. Repairs cost $30 per linear foot, so keep that in mind if damage occurs, and be aware that extreme weather can reduce performance. Overall, vinyl offers a solid balance of durability and style, though you’ll pay a bit more if you need repairs. For many homeowners, the curb appeal and low upkeep still make vinyl fencing a worthwhile investment.

Vinyl fencing is more expensive than wood fencing. The higher cost is justified by its extended lifespan and lower maintenance requirements when compared to wood. Vinyl fence material persists longer and reduces the need for frequent repairs, which contributes to its value as a long-term investment. Installation may require additional time, but its dependable performance and refined look offer superior benefits.

The lifespan of a vinyl fence extends from 10 to 30 years. This duration is directly determined by the quality of the vinyl material, the precision of installation, and the prevailing weather conditions. A well-installed vinyl fence delivers robust performance, enduring durability, and an uncompromising appearance throughout its entire service life. The construction process reinforces its resilience against environmental challenges.

The ideal vinyl fence style depends on your specific needs for privacy, aesthetics, and functionality. A classic picket fence delivers an enduring, traditional look for front yards, while a privacy fence offers secure seclusion for backyards. A three-rail fence provides a balanced design that suits both decorative standards and performance expectations. Consider factors such as desired style, local climate, and long-term maintenance when selecting your perfect vinyl fence design.
