They were wonderful to work with, they would answer phone calls and get back to you right away with any questions that you had. They did everything that they promised. "I recently had part of my left leg amputated and needed the narrow sidewalks between my back porch and garage replaced with much wider walkways. After being scammed by another contractor, I was skeptical about anything any contractor might promise... 5 Star Concrete & Construction restored our faith in contractors. They answered my job request almost immediately after I sent it!!! Within an hour, Gibron (the owner?) was at my house with an estimate and his assurance that such a small job could be finished that very afternoon! I was further amazed by the fact that Gibron told us that no monies were expected until after the job was completed! Sure enough, his crew arrived soon afterwards and began preparing my yard for the concrete to be poured. By 5 pm, the job was PROFESSIONALLY done along with two small handyman chores we had asked for! Total cost was $2750 for new 40" wide sidewalks that I could easily manuever my walker, rollator and wheechair on safely! A wonderful experience. Can't recommend this contractor highly enough!"

"Rivera Concrete Paving's $8,500 bid became $11,000. Owner Magdiel Rivera adds charges after you're committed and doesn't follow through after payment. Cost increases: I mentioned roots upfront - he said equipment could handle it, then charged $450. Said grading unnecessary, then created false urgency claiming we HAD to grade before concrete. Later said could grade after. Added $1,800. Crew broke drainage pipes, charged me $250. Couldn't move AC condenser despite my asking during estimate. Payment tactics: Said pay "when satisfied." Then requested half early, then full payment before done. When I said work incomplete, he asked "Don't you trust me?" then broke promises. Broken promises: Walkway cured wrong, no follow-up. $1,800 grading included 3-month landscaping - no communication. Promised debris cleanup, later said not responsible. Damaged 4-month fence, couldn't repair properly, paid $300 after pressure. Dismisses costs at estimate, adds them later. Makes promises, then excuses."

"From the first visit we felt Tony would do a great job for us. We had an unlevel, cracked, ugly asphalt driveway and a one-step stoop that was so high, it was scary to step down from. The melted snow ran from the driveway into our garage...that is how much higher our old blacktop driveway was. Tony envisioned a stoop with two steps for safety and esthetics and proposed the idea to us. Obviously, we loved it. Tony was there answering every question, helping us choose materials and always replied within 24 hours, which we found that completely acceptable. So we signed up! Then the work started and we were equally impressed with John who did all the supervision of their concrete team. We loved to see John working along side the crew, riding the machinery and the pleasant way he treated their workers.
