"Executive Flooring did an excellent job. Bryan, the owner and his helpers went above and beyond the flooring tear out, hardwood install, molding install , fixing some damaged sheetrock and tightening of the carpet. I will recommend this company to family and friends."

"Our carpet job came out perfectly. Jenna was our sales rep and she was well-informed and helped us select the best carpet and pad for comfort and durability. Jenna is a joy to work with. We had to reschedule the installation due to the Flu and Marty was very accommodating. The installation crew was among to best who ever worked for us. They introduced themselves and went to work without delay. the professionalism and skill of the crew are top-notch. Dagoberto, Frank, and Saul worked together like a well-oiled machine. Everything was in its proper place to our satisfaction before they left. The entire experience exceeded our expectations."

"There really isn't any other rug service like Yeatts' in the North Carolina Piedmont. They are professional in every way you need. They are also fully responsible for your property during the cleaning process. It takes a lot of trust to turn a very old, very expensive carpet over to anyone. Yeatts' can always be trusted and counted on to do the very best. If you have carpets that are in need of cleaning and/or repair. Do yourself a favor and call Yeatts Rug Plant on Academy St. in Winston-Salem NC."

"Wonderful experience! I contacted Weeks for an estimate after seeing floors that were installed in new houses and talking to the builders. Cameron arrived on time for the appointment and gave me an estimate that was comparable to others estimates I received. I decided to go with Weeks based on their reputation and the number year they had been in business. Cameron provided guidance on the type of floor I needed since my house is on a slab. I was remodeling my kitchen prior to the installation of the floors and Cameron was very flexible when I had to reschedule the install date twice. The crew that removed my carpet and installed the floors were fantastic! I was amazed at how quickly they installed the floors. The hickory floors are beautiful! Highly recommend Weeks!"

"Extremely satisfied from start to finish. We first called for an estimate. Mike came to our home at the appointed time (he called first to make sure we were ready for this visit). We had several questions about installation and he answered them clearly. We then made several trips to the store to select the linoleum and found the staff very helpful. They spent a fair time with us. We never felt rushed to make a decision and did not feel we were steered to the higher priced products. The estimate was phoned in and e-mailed as promised. Haw River called the day before the installation date to confirm we were ready. The installer (Wayne Isley) came on schedule and performed a great job. He let us know what and why he was doing, and never was impatient with our many questions. We observed the installation from start to finish - Wayne and his helper (Cody) took their time and obviously knew what they were doing. We are very pleased with all aspects of Haw River's work and plan on having them do additional work in the near future."

"It went pretty well. They did an excellent job. I went with a better fence than what they had in their store but they were able to get it. They price matched the best price I got. The contractor seemed like he knew what he was doing. It was a difficult installation because the land had a lot of slope to it so he had to be a little bit more skilled. It was about the best price I could get."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Winston Salem, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
