Customers say: True professional

"Andy's crew is very professional and did a great job. My home was difficult to get drywall into. They carried each sheet upstairs. Walls finished very well. Dedicated spray equipment created smooth application of knock down texture. Ceilings Looks great. No damage. No surprises. Priced right, but they weren't the cheapest option. On time. No excuses. They protected my property and cleaned up after themselves. As a property manager, I will definitely use Scott's again."

"Gus and his team did an outstanding job from start to finish! Gus, from the beginning of the estimate to the finish of the job has excellent customer service, which goes a long way. The team was very careful in every step from prepping the rooms, taping things off, painting and clean up. I would highly recommend Gus and his team and would certainly use them again! Top notch!! Sending along some before and after photos of their excellent work. Thank you, Gus and your team! "

"Zach did get the dishwasher uninstalled and plug in set up for the stove. There was an electrical problem that turned out to be beyond Zach's ability so the new dishwasher is requiring an electrician for the install to be completed. I did need to reschedule him as he missed the first appointment. He needs to work on communications. "

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Winterset, IA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
