"The encapsulation went very well. The workers removed existing insulation and did a nice job putting up new insulation. They also sprayed the mold on the floor joists above, although that cost extra. The problem arose when the foreman came to rear of the house to see the patio to be removed. He seemed completely surprised at its size and told me quite frankly that they were not given its dimensions, and so had no way to haul that much concrete away that day. The fact that they didn't have the size of the patio is bizarre, since an inspector came to our house twice (once to quote, the other to sign documents) and had measured the patio both times. The workers broke up the concrete and said they would arrange for someone to come out and remove the concrete-- also frustrating as I'm a teacher, and this work was being done the very last weekday of summer break. Now I can see how miscommunications can happen, and I understand that the workers couldn't haul away the material that day. That's not my issue. My issue is that here we are Wednesday of next week, and not only does my back yard still look like the apocalypse has hit, but they didn't even call to schedule anything! I've heard nothing! When I called them myself at 4PM I was sent to the scheduling people only to get a recording and a voice mail! When you mess up, it's only a problem if you don't make it right, and these people seem wholly unconcerned that they messed up and left a huge mess in my back yard. I understand that the removal of concrete isn't their forte, but this is just silly. Update: After calling, they scheduled an appointment to haul away the concrete the next week, and while they did it, the representative was really pushy trying to upsell me on tons of extras. If I ever need work done on my foundation again, I will definitely find someone else. I suggest you consider doing the same."

"Great experience-start to finish. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company. Russell made sure I understand exactly what was happening with our foundation, exactly what him and his crew were going to do, and how much it would cost. Zero pressure to hire them - just an explanation of what was happening and how it could be fixed. Sometimes construction was delayed, we started much later than I had planned…and it took longer than expected - BUT I would hire them 100x over. There is no other company I would trust with my foundation. Period. His crew worked in the pouring rain, cleaned up at the end of the day - (meaning they swept the street in front of my house) and protected my grass during construction. I would challenge ANYone to come over and guess where they dug. (8ft+trench) The crew even preserved some trinkets for my girls when they dug in their fairy garden♥️. We JUST had Patrick from Ark Foundation out, to examine why we were getting water in our basement; and he immediately diagnosed the issue as one of landscaping grading and drainage rather than foundation repair. He was SO helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and informative - and his advice directly went against any financial gain on his part (i.e., we weren't charged for the diagnosis; and his advice was to find a good landscaper). "One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."

"Their estimator was very knowledgeable about foundation problems. He was thorough in his investigation for the estimate, and explained everything in an understandable way. He came back again to talk to my father, who was footing the bill. <br /> My problem was that the house was sinking in the area of the basement fireplace, and the first-floor fireplace sat directly on top of it. There was about a 2" crack on the stairwell wall which backed up against the basement fireplace. The basement floor along an exterior wall had cracked and separated for about 25 feet by 6 feet. On the first floor, walls and door frames had shifted out of square. Before the repair work could be started, I had to remove about 7 steps in the stairwell behind the fireplace, the stairway landing, and the hearth, which was about 18" high and 7' long, so they could get to the concrete underneath. (This was not part of their estimate.) <br /> The men arrived on time with everything needed to do the job. They started work immediately, and worked hard. I had not imagined the intense labor involved in digging up the foundation, and removing the concrete. When the supervisor started installing the piers, he discovered that 25 feet was not deep enough to secure the piers, and the piers went down to 46 feet. This was just the nature of the earth beneath my house. So I signed a change order for the additional labor and materials. By the time they were finished, everything was exactly level. I was very happy with the work. The job lasted about 2-1/2 days, and each day they cleaned up, and put away their tools. <br /> Not part of the contract was rebuilding the stairway, and plaster repair. I was fine with this, and hired a local carpenter. <br /> I would definately hire Basement Cracks and Leaks to do foundation repair or waterproofing. <br />"
