"After a recent storm, water started dripping through my ceiling, and I knew it was time to fix it right. I went to Angi's list, and one of the first names to catch my eye was ACJ Remodeling. I read through a long list of very good reviews and decided this would be the best choice. Joe came over immediately to inspect the roof. He was very straightforward and recommended stripping and replacing. I was in agreement as I wanted to get to the source of any issues rather than just cover it with another layer of material. We agreed on a price,which I found very reasonable and made plans to to begin. On day one, a dumpster arrived, and his crew began immediately stripping off the old roof and found the source of the leak as well as several areas that had rotted wood and needed framing and sheathing replacement. They took extensive photos of the damaged areas to replace, and it was a no brainier that the work needed to be done. I was pleasantly surprised as to how clean the site was at the end of day one. By the end of day two, everything we discussed was complete. He had even put more men in the job to finish before another storm was coming. The new roof looks fantastic,new gutters, all new metal trim at the peak looks better than the original. Jobsite was spotless when they left. ""The roof over our gym was unusually sensitive because the interior had tall, open ceilings and climbing walls directly beneath the deck. The existing built-up roof had deteriorated around several old vents, and wet insulation was found near the center drain. Loose material or a dropped fastener could have been difficult to retrieve safely from the climbing structures below. The gym closed only the sections beneath active roofing. Interior safety netting and protective platforms were installed before tear-off began. Most materials were moved by an exterior lift so crews did not carry debris through the customer areas. Removal exposed an acoustical metal deck that remained serviceable except around one abandoned vent. That opening was framed and infilled according to the approved detail. New tapered insulation improved drainage around the remaining curbs, followed by cover board and fully adhered TPO. No fasteners or cuttings were allowed to remain loose on the deck."
