"I sent out 3 RFPs via Angie's List e-mail early one Sunday morning. Paula called me within an hour of my posting. I sent her photos of the work I wanted done and she sent me a proposal the next day. I waited a few days for other proposals to return but Paul/Paula's was the best--not only least expensive but also most complete. (Paul is the company name, Paula was my contact.) The proposal included new cushions (sorely needed--pun intended), stuffing and stainguard. I ordered my fabric from Joann's Fabric (40% off) and saved another $600 above the discounts Paula gave me. (I also saved $1500+ by using Joann's estimate of yardage online--other upholsterer's asked for twice as much fabric as I sent to Paul's--and they sent me fabric back!) Paula told me it would take 6 weeks for the 3 loveseats and wing chair--it took 2 weeks. I was thrilled with results and ---I had over 3 yards of fabric returned, so I sent it back to Paul's with the four additional chairs and had them reupholstered as well. I had bought this furniture 30 years ago and loved it the entire time. The upholstery had gone threadbare and the cushions were shot. Paul's essentially rebuilt the loveseats and replaced the cushions, giving me entirely new furniture of a design that I couldn't replace. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody and would use them again--if I'm still around in 30 years. I expect Paul's will be. I figure, including the 50% savings on fabric (because I only had to buy half as much), the project with Paul's cost me 30-50% less than the next nearest estimate. I couldn't be happier. Ok, one criticism. They could have use the little spiral upholstery pins to pin on the armrest covers that they included, to make them look neater. So I bought some at Joann's and did it myself. $6"

"Really well. Victor and Gus arrived exactly at the appointed time. They were friendly and introduced themselves. They put on booties before coming into the house. I showed them the rooms and hallway to be done. Victor told me of an upgrade in the cleaning for $65 which was deep cleaning and restoration, which I bought. They moved any furniture necessary to clean the area. Then they cleaned my carpets. Wow! What a job. They are beautiful. Victor and Gus even removed two stains that other cleaners could not. One was a black shoe polish applicator that I dropped in my closet. They did beautiful work. The upgrade was totally worth it."

"I had been doing business with this company for over 8 years.  They have always been prompt in getting back to me, but this time it took them five days to get back to me.  I first called them on a Monday to schedule a carpet cleaning. Apparently their answering service was taking calls that day which I didn't know when answered the phone.  In a nice tone, i asked who I was speaking to and they answered Unique.  I again asked who I was speaking to and they said the same thing.  I asked a third time and got the same cold answer.  In none of these cases did they identify themselves as the answering service.  I hung up the phone and left a email message on their company website.  They must never look at this website because I never heard back from them.  I called again on Wednesday and figured out it was the answering service again.  I asked for someone to call me to schedule a cleaning.  I got a call back late on Friday afternoon and it went to my voice mail.  I was a little put off by this so on Thursday I contacted another highly rated carpet and upholstery cleaner in Lake County.  I got an immediate response from this company as well as answers to several questions via email the same day.  His reviews looked excellent and the prices seemed more reasonable to I went him. Had Unique done this work, it would have cost me $200 more. <br /> <br /> UPDATE:  Larry Rosenthal called me to inquire about the rating that I gave the company.  I was very nice and concerned that one of his long time customers would be this upset with the service.  We had a nice conversation and I told him that I would consider using them again sometime in the future.  He gained a great deal of credence by calling me and giving me his personal cell phone.  I was told that he would be reviewing his answering service protocol and also some internal procedures.  I was impressed that he asked me for some suggestions about how things could be changed for the better.  I gave him those recommendations and he was very grateful.  I have since change my rating from a "D" to a "C" based on his outreach to me."

"Fred and his assistant arrived promptly and did the work quickly and efficiently.  They have a truck which  takes the dirty water out of your house by a hose, so there is nothing messy at all.  The furniture looks appreciably better.  Will certainly call them again! <br />"
