"I would 100% recommend working with Old Ironsides as a construction company. I reached out to their company and Lee'o went out and looked at our property and gave me a bid. When I chose their company to do the work, I walked the property with Lee'o and Pat. I then went and picked the tile/flooring/countertops/sink/other finishes with them. Throughout the process, I got daily photo updates and Lee'o would email or call me with anything that was out of the norm. We always had a good conversation about what was going on and Lee'o provided me solutions to the problems we encountered. We had Old Ironsides do new: electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, ducting, bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, doors, painting (interior & exterior). They also took care of the termite/asbestos remediation. Doing a project of this size was very daunting but I never doubted their ability and the communication and quality of work was fantastic. I would highly recommend using Old Ironsides for all of your construction needs."

"We met and interviewed five of the top granite people in town. All came highly recommended from others. <br /> Armando (Stone Crafters) came to our house and took a long (unhurried) time describing what he wanted to do and how he would accomplish the task. I had some ideas for which I asked Armando’s opinion. He gave me very good answers. He was not shy about showing me where some of my ideas would not work well. He was very polite and he was absolutely correct. <br /> Armando met us at the granite yard and helped us pick out granite. We had already made some choices and he noted that one of our choices had structural flaws that could have been very bad. He also helped us pick granite that had excellent polish and would seam very well. <br /> I was very concerned about the seams because I have seen other jobs where the seams are terrible. He told me that his seams would be as close to invisible as possible. <br /> The Stone Crafter team arrived on schedule (Monday) and demoed and templated the kitchen and laundry room with little fanfare. They were supposed to return on Friday to install the countertops. We had (early on) mentioned that we were having people over on Friday for dinner. Armando got everything done by Thursday (nice surprise which we had not expected). <br /> The team installed the counters and they look fantastic. The seams really are close to invisible. I have had some people come <br /> by to look at the counters and they have a difficult time finding the seam even when they know where to look. <br /> I did not have Armando do the backsplashes because I wish to do them myself. <br /> Also, Armando suggested which faucets were the best to use. He was correct on this. The faucets look and work very well. His suggestion on the one faucet saved us several hundred dollars. <br /> I would use Stone Crafters again anytime I need granite. They were informative, helpful, friendly, punctual, cost effective, and consummately professional. <br /> AND – I cannot see the seams! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I called on August 14 for an estimate. I contacted him again on August 28 because I still haven't received an estimate. He responded that he forgot all about me. I contacted him again and he stated that he will contact the tenant on September 5. Since I still hadn't gotten an estimate, I contacted him again on September 18. I finally got an estimate on September 19. He is a very nice guy and speaks professionally but not very responsive."

"My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.  <br /> After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked. <br /> After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over. <br /> I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future. <br />"

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."

"I give them a call, I had an evaluation done within 48 hours. They also brought samples of hardwood and tile. They removed my old carpet and tile. Charmet tile was very promptly at their arrival as well as neat. they did a good job on the installation. I will recommend Charmet tile for their good work and customer service. <br> <br>"

"Initial timeline was for 4 to 5 weeks for the remodel project. Total project was 8 weeks. My wife had to continuously call to find out when the contractor was going to be back to work on the cabinets, the flooring, the countertops, the painting, etc. Contractor would work for 2 or 3 hours and then go home and not return for days at a time. It felt like we were a side job. The contractor failed to pull a permit for the electrical work. This was discovered by an inspector who happened to be visiting my home to sign off the work done on a new solar panel installation (different project). When the inspector noticed that the kitchen remodel was under way, he asked the contractor for a copy of the permit and the contractor said that he didn't know that he needed one. This cost us an additional week delay in the project and was a bit disturbing. The contractor was also willing to leave holes in the sheetrock on the wall behind the cabinets and when we commented about the holes (baseball sized) he said that nobody would see them once the cabinets were installed. We argued that the holes weren't there when the old cabinets were installed and that they needed to be filled in prior to hanging the new cabinets. Regarding the quotation for the project: the contractor (owner of Stockdale Kitchen and Bath) told us during the prejob meeting to discuss pricing that he could do a granite countertop for between $1000 and $1500. He also said that it would cost another $1000 for a tiled back splash. Once the project was underway, we were told that the dollar figures didn't include material. We also found out after the project was underway that the contractor did not plan to paint the kitchen and didn't include that in the price. We had to pay additional for that to be done or else would have had to do the painting ourself. The finish work was not good and everywhere the cabinets mated up against a wall or ceiling, you could see crooked paint lines. This was because the contractor installed the cabinets before painted the walls and ceiling. Several of the cabinet shelves didn't line up and one of the lazy susans wouldn't open all the way because of hitting the adjacent stove. When it came time to install our new refrigerator, we literally had to force it into the cabinet opening because the contractor designed the opening for the exact width of the refrigerator. There is zero clearance on the sides of the refrigerator. Throughout the project, the communication was very poor on the part of the contractor. For each issue we raised regarding the quality of the work, the canned response from the contractor was that it was "industry standard". This coming from a man who bragged at the outset about how he went above and beyond what most other contractors do as far as quality work. The only thing that went right with this project was that the cabinets arrived on time and as ordered. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone."
