"This job was completed efficiently and professionally. A design specialist came to test and measure every detail for the project. The crew arrived with everything needed for the job. They worked very hard to install Waterguard in the concrete floors inside around the foundation to the sump pump basket. They also installed Geo-lock anchors to support a block wall that was bowed. This company has 36 years in business and provides excellent results and professional customer relations. Call Amer. Wtrwrks for a free estimate. You will not be disappointed. A wise investment of $11,270."

"Cement Raising mud jacked the driveway apron and front sidewalk and caulked the joints. When they were done, the concrete was restored to the proper level in both places. The caulking job was adequate, but not any better than what I could have done myself. Unfortunately the repairs to the front sidewalk are quite visible (lots of drill holes in a small space), so I'm not sure that mud jacking was an appropriate solution. They were pretty messy. They dislodged the sump pump pipe and got white goop on the grass, the shrubs, the decorative rocks, the street, the entire length of the hose they borrowed, and a bare patch of soil in the neighbors yard. <br />"

"I appreciated the accurate estimate for the work as well as the advice on preventing it from happening again. The crew arrived on time and raised the walkway section so it’s level now. They also caulked between the driveway and garage slabs."

"Craftsmen Home Improvement did excellent work replacing our roof due to storm damage. They were professional, everyone from the salesman, to the office staff, to the three men who removed our old roof and installed the new one. They did not disturb our landscaping and they cleaned the area every evening when they left. It was surprising quiet. Their nifty Equipter machinery carried the old shingles to the dumpster in our driveway. Even the dumpster was not obnoxiously large. Thank you Craftsmen Home Improvements for this work and your fine work installing our new siding years ago."

"Drew was able to come out the same day I contacted the company to do the estimate.  He was very professional and provided consulting that I did not need hard core basement waterproofing (sump pump, drain tile, etc.) but wall scraping, painting.  The root cause of the seepage was due to landscaping/mulch around the house.  He made a few suggestions like 4 feet of rocks vs mulch.  I very much appreciate the honest consulting and am relieved. <br> <br>Drew suggested full concrete stair replacement vs patching.  Also, suggested glass block windows that open to help with basement airflow $8800.  This is not in my budget to do at this time. <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"It went great. Justin (the owner) sent out Jake and Kyle to do a patch job for free and had started to do it when we talked with them about their opinions about the job. They said they would do the job for free, but it might look a bit patchy when complete as it would be difficult to match the previous epoxy color. They talked us into redoing the entire floor for a small part of the actual cost. Jake and Kyle were extremely friendly and professional. Plus, they did a great job. The job site was extremely clean. I would definitely use them again if needed."

"My husband and I recently worked with Mike Walk from Over Under Construction/Austin Remodeling to replace our windows, roof, soffit, fascia, and gutters. We have since highly recommended him to multiple friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers. After receiving several bids, we were immediately impressed with Mike’s reasonable quotes as well as his friendly demeanor. Mike took time to listen to our specific needs and answer all of our questions. He offered several pieces of great aesthetic advice, which helped our roof and windows turn out better than I had originally envisioned. Throughout each task, we witnessed a strong attention to detail and quality level of finish. We both feel grateful to have worked with such a professional, trustworthy, and accommodating person during the stressful process of purchasing and working on a “fixer-upper”. The quality of each job was superb, and the clean-up from the roof replacement was spotless. Mike’s crews worked quickly to create high-quality results. Throughout each job, Mike checked in with us to ensure that we were satisfied. Mike definitely went above and beyond his duties as a contractor; he warmly welcomed us into the community by providing information recommendations for further local services. We are thrilled with the work that he and his crew completed on our home, and we would love to work with him again in the future."

"My wife and I are extremely pleased with the end result of this project. It looks so good. The epoxy coating on the parameter foundation blocks and the concrete step to the house ads a perfect touch to the new clean look. I can now sweep the floor without dealing with concrete chips, dust, rough surface and cracks. We are also extremely pleased with the entire process of the project, including inspection and estimate, work scheduling, work completion and final inspection and satisfaction follow up. Terry, Ron, the lead workman and partner were all great to work with. I told the workmen the reason I chose Great Garage Floors was that they had done a neighbors garage floor 5 years ago and I really liked the job that was done and how well it was holding up. The lead workman told me he had done that job too. I could sense his pride that he takes in doing excellent work. The cost was competitive and obviously much less than doing a full concrete floor replacement."

"It was excellent. Searched for a long time for a contractor who could correct issues I had with footings under my deck stairs rising due to frost heave and making me deck stairs and landing uneven. Most contractors never responded to my request for help. Owner Jim Funk responded immediately with an outline of how to permanently correct the frost issue. Despite being very busy building complete decks, he offered an opportunity to an employee to respond to my issues on a weekend. Joshua was the person who helped me. I was able to get assistance quickly. The work was done professionally, without disturbing my flower bed ( very challenging), with a complete description of the fix, and a very friendly encounter. Best results I have ever had hiring a contractor. I highly recommend."

"Having done many repair and improvement projects over the years on our previous and very old house (1893), we had experienced a lot of frustration dealing with incompetent, indifferent, and often sloppy contractors. Even if the contractors were competent, they often cut corners in order to save themselves time on the job. In most cases we had to watch over them like hawks to try to get a quality finished product, but neither of us have sufficient knowledge or experience in home repair and improvement to be effective supervisors. We always felt very vulnerable when dealing with contractors.  We experienced these frustrations even though we did not always select the low bid contractor. Most of these projects occurred in the ?dark ages?, when reviews and ratings about contractors were not readily available. Even word of mouth recommendations did not always prove to be reliable. Thus, we know what it can be like dealing with bad contractors.    <br /> To try and avoid these problems for our recent house remodeling project, we decided to give Angie?s List a try.  This winter we purchased a 3,000 sf house (originally built in 1914) that was uninhabitable. It had been gutted with some plumbing and electrical rough-in, but it needed a lot of work.  It wasn?t a straight-forward project for anyone to take on because some of the re-work had been started, and then the house sat empty for two years.   We essentially needed an entire house remodel (interior) and a little exterior work as well (stucco and railings). This was a big job that needed a contractor who could do the job right within a reasonable time frame and have the expertise and experience to deal with all aspects of rebuilding a 100-year old house.    <br /> After all of this research, we selected Redstone Builders.  They seemed like decent, intelligent guys when we first met them. They made us feel at ease about the magnitude of the project and their ability to complete it in a timely manner. We quickly developed a sense that they were the right people for us to work with. From our past experiences with other contractors who also ?seemed? great, however, our optimism about Redstone was mixed with fear that we would eventually run into the kinds of problems we?d had with previous contractors.  However, we could not have been more wrong.   <br /> Our faith in home remodeling contractors has been restored. They finished the project on time (14 weeks) and only slightly over budget. The quality exceeded our expectations. We firmly believe that Dan wanted the house to look better than we did, and it does. He is a perfectionist with a fine attention to detail. They are honest, competent, and experienced contractors who have high standards of quality and workmanship.   True to their word, they started on the day they said they would, and had workmen (sometimes a house-full) there nearly every single day (weekends were no exception) working on the project until it was completed.  We never had to wonder what was going on or if someone was going to show up on a given day.   We never felt like they were trying to cut corners, rip us off, or pull the wool over our eyes.  They were always responsive with questions or concerns that we raised.  They were never condescending, rude or impatient.  It was an enjoyable process to work with them to transform the gutted mess that we bought into a beautiful, restored home that we are excited to live in and proud to show off.   <br /> Every single room of the house needed extensive work, including: the 3 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, foyer, 1st floor family room, 2 full bathrooms, 1st first-floor half bath with laundry room, and the 3rd floor playroom/family room. The list of tasks they completed is great and included: finish the framing, complete the heating system, complete the plumbing rough-in, complete the electrical system, foam insulation, skim coat all plaster walls, sheetrock and taping of new walls, tile work, refinish original wood floors, install new wood floors, strip and refinish original woodwork, install central air (high velocity) system, install cabinets, install granite counters, install light fixtures, install plumbing fixtures, install exterior railings, and have the top or finish coat of stucco applied. The original wood floors, window seat, buffet, bannister, doors and endless wood trim that had been covered by coats of paint or grimy stain were all restored to stunning condition.  They also found a unique subcontractor to restore our beautiful but neglected nearly 100-year old front door and create a stained glass window for it that matched others in the house.  Thus, we were able to maintain the character of an old house with all of the woodwork and built-ins that we were seeking, but add modern amenities such as central AC and an owner?s suite to make for more comfortable living.  We firmly believe that Redstone did more than was originally promised and consistently erred on the side of exceeding expectations.    <br /> A great asset of Redstone is that they are well-connected with an experienced group of sub-contractors who are used to working together and with Bob and Dan.  All of the subcontractors were very competent and eager to do the job right.  We cannot say enough good things about the subs.    <br /> Dan and Bob are easy to talk with and work with and are knowledgeable builders. They smartly included time with an interior designer in the budget, which proved very helpful in tile selections and layouts, room configurations, and paint selections. Redstone did not provide the absolute lowest total bid, but when you carefully examine the package, you realize that the allowances (for granite, tile, flooring, etc.) Bob includes are very generous. In our case, the only exception was light fixtures, where lack of a detailed inventory of needed fixtures and some higher end selections on our part resulted in a few thousand over the allowance. The entire project came in only slightly over budget  (4 %) and mostly because of change orders requested by us including a custom dinette table with freestanding bench and additional granite in the laundry room. So in fact, if you desire a quality finished product with high-end finishes, the final total for a Redstone job may actually prove to be lowest in the end. Also, Dan and Bob do not disappear when the final payment is received. They are very concerned that you are completely satisfied. Dan has been back on a few occasions with some of the subs to check and repair a few minor issues and to do paint touchups.   <br /> Furthermore, as we were preparing our old house for sale, Bob and Dan offered to help if needed by arranging for subs to work at the house with no markup on their part. After an inspection revealed a leaky shower pan (as a result of shoddy work by previous contractors), we contacted Dan and Bob and they responded just as they had promised. Dan was on the scene with their tile sub within a day or so and figured out a plan to tear out and replace the pan and the affected tile. Dan has taken several trips to the house during the demo and repair just to make sure things are going ok. Dan and Bob are sincere and keep their word. They are the best. We cannot recommend Redstone Builders highly enough.  I imagine that if you consulted with their prior clients, they all would be willing to hire them again. We are no exception, as we plan to hire them to build a new garage.   <br /> We aren?t ones to typically write reviews of a company.  We?ve just never felt strongly enough one way or the other to do so.  However, in this case, our experience with them was so positive and we think so highly of them, that we wanted to do what we could to endorse them.  If you want a job that is done right, done to exacting standards and done with the least amount of pain possible, then hire Redstone.  They are that good."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Young-america, MN

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
