"Apparently this man's job to break into the home of the seller, unannounced and without permission or an appointment. Then he will condescend you and forbid you to make the simplest of improvements to your own home you're trying to sell. Even though they are the improvements that the buyer asked you to make. They should change the name of the company to "Boardman Home Invasion" as it seems more accurate to me. Anne Is amazing though, 10 stars for Anne's Management! How doe she do it? She's basically the Michael Jordan of managers."

"The inspection process was seamless from scheduling to implementation! I like that the company has a 24/7 call line. You can always get in touch with a representative of the company. I was a little disappointed at the knowledge level of the call rep when I initially called. I inquired if the inspector would be going into the attic since there was an attic access as well as a couple other questions. They had to put me on hold to go verify what would be accomplished. I appreciate tho, that there was someone to answer the questions. We chose to have the home, wood destroying insect, mold, and radon inspections performed. Bobby arrived promptly and introduced himself. This next fact may seem weird, but the fact that he arrived looking clean, neat, and not smelling of offensive smoke or BO was a major plus to me! Thank you, Bobby! He asked me if I had any particular concerns about the home on which he should concentrate. He outlined for me how he would strategically approaching the inspection. He went right to work. He would always answer my questions thoroughly, never seeming annoyed that I was interrupting his process. He inspected the home thoroughly performing challenges of functionality of the home. For example, he ran the water of the basement shower and utility tub for a prolonged amount of time to check the flow of the water out of the house. Well, he detected that before too long, the water started backing up. He also confirmed our suspicion that the tiles on the basement floor were asbestos based. He also identified that a recent tub drain repair had been poorly accomplished. On the good side, he reassured us that the roof still had some longevity to it. He also reassured us that there were no critters in the attic, the attic was well insulated and the insulation was not asbestos! At the conclusion of the inspection, he reviewed the points of concern with me. He was able to offer insight on repairs or ways to correct problems, always being honest if he was not knowledgeable on a particular item. I appreciate that honesty. On the flip side, he seemed very versed on the items we were reviewing. Thank you, Bobby for a great inspection. Because of items found and items that would take more money to correct than we were willing to invest, we decided not to continue with the purchase."

"Ryan arrived early and was waiting for us when we arrived. He took a walk around the outside of the property prior to our arrival, so he already had a good feel of what he was going to be looking at. He was professional, kind, funny and extremely helpful. Answering any and all questions we had while walking through the property and giving his recommendations on what should be fixed straight away. I definitely would use Ryan again in the future. He made the experience very pleasant. Thanks Ryan!"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Youngstown, OH

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
