Everyone at Falcone--the schedulers who arranged our estimate visit and the repair work, the foundation experts who repaired the porch, the finance people who explained the estimate and our final bill--every single one of them was helpful, prompt, courteous, and great at their jobs. The price was better. It turned out that they charged me per foot. They give you up to so many feet of steel before they start to charge you extra. There's so much per pair. They charge you and you get 30-feet off that. They charge you so much extra per foot that they have to drive back here into the ground before they hit rock. In my case, they had to go for 35-feet to hit rock. It cost a lot more than what we expected. In the end, they worked with me to come up with a good solution that kept the price close to what they originally estimated. They basically reduced one pair. They felt like it would be fine for my case. They worked with me to keep the price in check when we had the unexpected expensive metal required for them to drive into the ground. "It turned out well. They repaired the inside trenching of the wall, a pump to pump out the water. I was having water coming into the basement in high rainy days. They were very thorough in making sure that the dust didn't migrate throughout the house because they created a lot of dust when they were breaking up the concrete and they took everything out and it was neat when they left. The laid tarp down so they didn't get dust on your carpet. The job held up very well. He removed the existing porch and took away all the debris, selected matching brick, poured new concrete footings, added concrete blocks and stone for drainage, poured another layer of concrete and enlarged and rebuilt the brick porch and steps. This porch is here to stay. He cut out and matched up the walkway and sloped the brick floor away from the house. "Our soil is all clay which has the highest risk of damaging a foundation as it alternates between wet and dry. Even a light rain would leave us a soggy yard for days as most of the roof drained to the lawn via downspouts or popups. Water would collect at the front of our house because the front yard and driveway sloped down to the house. The builder used flimsy corrugated plastic tubes for underground connections to pop ups on the lawn. (One of flimsy tubes was blocked with debris.) Drain Designs did an excellent job connecting new commercial grade 4 inch PVC pipes to all downspouts plus installed two surface drains to collect water at the house front. The three-team crew (Rob, Dalton and Jonny) were courteous, skilled and hard working. They hand dug trenches next to the foundation against our home, carefully removing any plants which they watered and set aside. The PVC pipes were placed and securely connected with screws. All of the roof’s rain was directed through the underground PVCs to the woods behind our house. Downspout cleanouts for flushing were placed. The plants were replanted so carefully that neighbors could not tell that the work had been done. In the following week we had two intense downpours during which the new system worked flawlessly. No water pooled at the front of the house or in our yard. We highly recommend Drain Designs.
