"Armondo and his crew replaced two landscaped areas in and around the driveway with concrete. We are extremely pleased with their work and the result. It is exactly what we wanted. If we ever need concrete again we will be calling them."

"The old shed was torn down with skill and rubbish dropped directly into a dumpster. The site was prepared and then the construction began. This was an 18 x 30 foot all metal pole barn with three windows, manual garage door, and entry door. It was put together quickly and looks great."

"One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."

"Wes evaluated my basement, as I had a concern for some spotted moldy areas on the wall. He walked me through the process of what they would do, showed me pictures, and was able to give me a quote. He was very friendly, explained everything in terms I could understand, and although I don't believe I am going to have the work completed at this time, I will definitely be keeping them in mind for future work!"

"Total professionalism, gave me the estimate, they weren’t the cheapest or the most expensive but he explained the work, and the time it would take to complete. I felt comfortable with his job knowledge and hired them. The job turned out to be a little more involved than previously thought but they worked through it with no extra charge to me. As of now I haven’t seen any water in my crawl space."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Ashland, OH

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
