"Headlines: Outstanding quality, great people, highly respectful of us and our home, complete restoration to “as before” condition, COVID Protocol, fair price. Recently, we needed to undertake a whole-house re-piping project for our home. Our original copper pipes had deteriorated over the years to the point where we experienced ~7 pinhole leaks either in walls, ceilings or open spaces scattered throughout the house. We finally bit the bullet, did extensive online research, and started contacts with plumbers. We had initial conversations with up to 8 firms and in-home interviews with 4, followed up by various telephone clarifications as we got smarter (more informed) during the process. We learned quickly that a major differentiator between firms was their preferred choice of materials for piping, fittings, crimps and fasteners. This side-tracked us into research, references and other conversations regarding CPVC, PEX (A, B and C) and Legend HyperPure pipe materials. We selected Atlantis Plumbing, LLC of Dallas, GA. for our project, now completed, for multiple reasons including: • Materials recommendation (we chose HyperPure) • Guarantees • Separate staff for Plumbing vs Restoration activity • Ability to customize Contract to our requests • Flexible scheduling for Start • Mandated COVID prevention protocols • Experience • Pricing in line with other options • Pleasant to deal with and inspired confidence We have no regrets. Our Plumbing team of Jackie and Barry were outstanding. They always called prior to arrival. They set expectations with us daily. We always had full water service restored at night and most of the days too. They first spent time investigating the existing plumbing system, cutting inspection holes as needed and developing a strategy/plan for the new pipes, with the goal of minimizing the number of holes in the house. They also dealt with challenges as they occurred, including a tricky tile cut through the grout in the master shower while preserving the tiles that were removed. They cleaned up daily and were respectful of our home. We developed a nice rapport and appreciated their work. On the restoration side, JC was equally outstanding, as this is where you hold your breath and hope it all comes back together – and it certainly did. JC was masterful at the drywall/tape/mud restoration, but also dealing with the other items disturbed by the project such as tiles, beadboard, vents, tub panel, etc. He is a true craftsman with attention to detail and quality and does most of his work by hand. He, also, avoided dust and mess as much as possible and cleaned up daily too. It probably helped that we were able to provide all the original paints [~10] except for one, but he was a master at blending in the paint of the restored surfaces with the unaffected portions, truly, “like it never happened”. We would recommend Atlantis Plumbing to anyone facing a similar major project. We will call on Atlantis as needed for any future plumbing problems."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Setting up the appointment was easy and very professional.  Same day service was offered, but I requested the following morning. <br /> Tim J. called ahead the following morning and showed up on time.  After greeting our two pugs (nobody enters without saying hi <br /> to a pug!) he promptly reviewed what I needed done, provided options and addressed the "what ifs".  We agreed to an estimate <br /> before he started work.  He was able to take care of two problems with one repair so he reduced the cost accordingly. <br /> Tim was very professional in his appearance, cleaned up after himself and used shoe covers coming in and out of the house. <br /> He was pleasant to talk to and very helpful in his explanations. He advised me of a water heater special thay were having, <br /> but did not pursue any hard sale tactics. <br /> When he first arrived, he advised me of a very attractive special they were having on drain cleanings which reduced my costs <br /> significantly.  <br /> I have used Mr. Plumber in the past with great satisfaction and also have a maintenance contract for our HVAC with their <br /> CoolRay.division. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Atlanta, GA

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
