"My wife and I recently decided to have some interior painting done in our home and we contacted First Choice Professional Painting to give us an estimate on the cost of the job and the time needed to perform. We had contacted them because they were listed on Angie?s list. I read all of the reviews for those participants listed in the Bloomington, IN area. Brandon Hood called and we set up an appointment to view the scope of the work and give us a estimate. He showed up on time and after viewing the rooms to be painted and recommending a color scheme with a reasonable cost estimate for the job, we decided to proceed and hired him to do the work to be performed on the following Wednesday. On Sunday he called and asked if he could move the schedule up to do the job on Monday, the next day. We agreed with the changed schedule. He and 3 others, a crew of 4, showed up on Monday at the agreed upon time. My wife and I had prepared the rooms to be painted by moving small items out of the area, and also removing switch plates and outlet covers. Within 10 minutes they were at work patching holes, taping the floors, and starting the ceiling. During the day they were efficient, courteous, hard working, and all business. We found it easy to relate with them, and they asked questions before proceeding with any questionable activity. We had initially expressed some doubt that they would be able to finish the job in one day. They painted the ceilings with 1 coat, 2 coats on the walls and 1 coat on the baseboards and trim in the front entry way of a split ranch, and the living room, dining area, kitchen, and bedroom hallway. They were good about cleaning up and protecting furniture that was still in the work areas. The job was finished ahead of schedule, and within the amount quoted for the job. The extra paint for the walls and trim was left with us for future touch-up. I would unequivocally recommend them for any work that they choose to bid on. We will hire them again if we have a need for interior / exterior painting services. <br />"

"Donald, owner of the company DKO Painting, and Alan and Tim, his employees/assistants, are Amazing, Pleasant, Professional, Punctual, Accommodating, etc—- all-around AWESOME!! ! My husband and I are IMMENSELY SATISFIED with the beautiful outcome!!! My husband who is extremely critical said they did a PERFECT job!! It was a tough job., too!!! We contracted them to Kilz our entire 4000 sqft home Including the interior of the garage before beginning to paint. They were at our home 8 to 5 every day and finished in one week: 5/17/2022 to 5/25 2022!! Yes, we would, Definitely,hire them again and have referred them to our friends. "Dennis arrived at our house on time to provide us with a painting estimate for the interior walls, trim, and doors of a couple rooms. The two large rooms are separated by a column and half wall, and one of the rooms has a tall (over twenty feet) vaulted ceiling. There are also many odd angles, three windows, two doors, a railing, and a trim cap on the half wall. Dennis inspected the room, took some notes, and asked about my expectations (paint the trim or no trim, etc.) He said he recommended two coats of paint which was our preference as well. We talked about paint colors, and in a very funny coincidence he had painted another room for the house's previous owners (I didn't know that before I called him!) which I was hoping to color match--so he happened to have the exact color I wanted in his records! Although he hasn't yet painted the rooms I called about (we're scheduled for next month), the other rooms he painted in the house before I moved in are very well done so I'm excited to have him back. <br /> <br /> Update: Dennis finished painting my office and the dining room, and we couldn't be happier. He did such an amazing job painting, and was much faster than I expected. He started painting on Tuesday and was finished by Thursday afternoon. He painted the walls (some with vaulted ceilings), trim, and doors, and everything looks perfect. We supplied the paint for the trim, but he brought the paint for the walls (as we planned since we had leftover trim paint). He arrived every morning on time, and always left the rooms cleaned up with minimal supplies (some tarps, etc.) neatly tucked out of the way. He was always very nice, professional, and pleasant to chat with before I left from work. I felt completely comfortable leaving him at our home by himself during the day. I have absolutely no complaints, and I would definitely call Dennis again the next time we need help painting."

"The project took about 3 weeks, due to several bad weather days. We could not be more pleased with the results. During the course of the project there were a few modifications or additions to the original scope of work we asked to have done, (pool filter access panels, sitting benches, hot tub steps) and Jim was very accommodating. During the project I could tell we were the beneficiaries of his crews wood working abilities. The fit of the deck boards around the pool is perfect. The few times that we had to contact Jim if he wasn't already here, was just a phone call or text away which was always responded to in a timely manner. We would highly recommend Jim and Southern Construction to anyone that needed any deck or carpentry work."

"He came promptly as planned, gave us his estimate, and spent about a half hour going over the details of the solution he uses for powerwashing and the kind of stain and sealer he uses for the deck. He mailed me the figures and asked me to contact him if we were interested in hiring him. We had several other estimates done. We decided to go with him largely because of how much time he took with us to tell us how he would do our house and because he did the staining and sealing of the deck himself. Not all the powerwash people do that. He came as planned, did a beautiful job with the powerwashing and came back a few days later to do the staining and sealing. We negotiated a few extras on the spot and he did not charge me extra, which I appreciated. He showed obvious pride in the nice job he and his helpers did and photographed the project as is went along. I am thrilled by how much better everything looks! <br />"

"I waited a year to write this review so that my wife and I could have a decent amount of time actually using what Aaron Prange (of Built by YOU) made for us. We have a small bathroom in a modern house built in 1968, which we wanted to renovate in an appropriate style. We had a recently acquired vanity top with fixture that we like a lot, but everything else needed to be changed. We consulted with several remodeling contractors before settling on Aaron. The reason was that he was the only one with a clear vision of how to proceed and really take into account our wishes. Others did not want to try retaining our new vanity top, while replacing the vanity cabinet, but Aaron was willing. He arranged for us to have a beautiful new cabinet made by Tim Graber Furniture, and he reinstalled our top seamlessly. He figured out how to expand the depth of the walk-in shower (replacing a narrow tub) without making the space seem cramped. And he had great ideas about lighting, as well as an idea for a large new mirror (also from Graber). We researched and picked out shower surrounds and plumbing fixtures (from Hoosier Winsupply -- highly recommended), flooring (from ColorTile), paint (from Bloomington Paint and Wallpaper), and we also had a mold remediation outfit (Bloom Environmental) carefully take out our moldy drywall ceiling. Aaron arranged for all the work to be done in the right sequence and with very minimal delays. He did a good deal of the demolition and construction work himself, with one co-worker. He was very good about communicating about the schedule and next steps. The work site was clean, with quilted moving mats forming a path from our front door into the bathroom. The job was completed maybe a week late, though much earlier than the other contractors were willing to promise. The job was done during the first half of August, which seems to be a busy time for contractors. We are thrilled with the result and enjoy using the space so much more than the old one. The cost was fair and stuck very close to the original estimate (barring a few things that we asked for after the estimate was done). Not everything was perfect: there was a minor alignment problem with the shower surround, due to nothing in our house really being at right angles. Some of the shower caulking has degraded by now and really needs to be refreshed, and a mounting flange for one of the shower fixtures has come loose. These are pretty minor compared to what could happen with a project in which the walls, ceiling, and much of the floor was stripped bare. I would not hesitate to call Aaron for a consultation on your next remodeling project."
