"Immediately responded to schedule appointment and friendly. Technician was helpful with an estimate and quickly replaced the faulty expansion tank. However, the amount of communication by phone and text from the dispatch was on the verge of nagging and the tech cancelled the appointment the morning of. Got rescheduled and it worked out though. "

"We hired Tidy Plumbing to do our backflow testing. Since I'm newer to the area and we didn't do that where we used to live, we were thankful to find such kind people to help. They did the testing and handled the paperwork that needed to be submitted. We will absolutely have Tidy Plumbing do all our plumbing work."

"My water bill had steadily risen over the summer to doubling by the end of summer. I suspected leaks, but had no idea where they might be. The house is older (1978) and the outside faucets did not appear to be "winterized" ones. Matt assured me during our initial phone call that they likely were but may be cracked. He arrived on time, quickly assessed what needed to be done and got right to work. His assistant did the actual dirty work (luckily, access to the water lines under the house were relatively easy but still required some time on one's stomach!); but Matt came back after everything was done to check on the work and check in with me. Everything went smoothly and was done really quickly. No mess (that I could see!) and I felt the price was fair. The assistant showed me the cracked pipe pieces, confirming the source of at least two leaks. I believe A+ is an honest, fair and reliable business and will call them again when the need arises."

"Excellent, consistent with other reviews. They suggested to save me money for me to go out before they came over and buy my garbage disposal ( bought same as before so not need more pipes put in) and toilet fix kit that I would likely need ( which was the one needed), therefore I would not have to pay their time to go buy needed parts if possible."

"Everything is fine. I've used them for about years too. They did a good job and are punctual. If these people aren't, I don't use them again. I show them what the problem is, they fix it and go away. I always refer them."

"Great, Other plumbers wanted to tear up concrete and were more expensive. TnC went under the house for hours and ran a new line with tearing up concrete walkways. Completed job in one day and installed Flo by Moen valve to detect future leaks. Couldn’t be more satisfied!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Bend, OR

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
