"The kitchen vinyl flooring installation was amazing - only one small seam in the floor where there is foot traffic.  Very well done. Large kitchen with a number of quirky areas. <br /> The TV room carpet came in after they had loaded the truck with our kitchen flooring and headed to the house for the installation.  They came back the next day to get the carpeting installed while our furniture was all out of the way.  The room gets a lot of traffic.  Mike had suggested a particular carpet due to its softness and durability.  We love it!  It is very soft, comfy and while it's a large room, you can't find any of the seams.  The installation team is courteous, professional, and called ahead when they were going to be about an hour late.  <br /> The results are great! I plan to use them next year when we replace our carpet going up the stairs and get new flooring in the second floor rooms. <br />"

"Enjoyed working with them.  We first visited the store on a Saturday to get some information about new carpet and there was only one person working.  She was assisting another customer and after 20 minutes of waiting we decided to try back another time.  When we returned a week later, she remembered that we had stopped in previously, apologized for not being able to help us that day, and thanked us for coming back.  We selected three carpets we liked and she provided us with samples to take home and provided us with a ballpark estimate for the carpet, padding, installation and removal of existing carpet.  When we decided to move forward with the carpet we selected, we called to arrange a time for someone to come get official measurements.  He arrived on time and was polite and quick.  We called to receive a final estimate with the exact measurements and to put down a deposit and order the carpet.  Once the carpet came in, we were able to schedule installation.  The time table they gave us (7-10 days for carpet to come in and 7-10 days out for installation date) were accurate.  After we scheduled installation, I called to see if we could bump it up to an earlier date and they were very accommodating.  The installers were polite and had three bedrooms completed in about three hours.  Overall a great experience! <br />"

"<p>Incredibly professional and efficient. Called on Sunday, got an in-home quote on Monday, and our carpets were cleaned on Friday afternoon. They moved and replaced every piece of furniture, and completed the job within 3 hours. Our carpets look brand new with zero trace of stains. Make sure to ask for the 20% off coupon in the Ithaca Journal (or on the company website), and receive a little extra off by paying with cash or check. We received quotes from a few different companies, and ABC was by far the most affordable. Next time we need our carpets cleaned, the only call we make will be to ABC. </p> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Central Square, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
