"We inherited a hazardous mess when when we bought our home a couple of years ago - 120 year old brick chimney with a huge hole in the base of the stack, crumbling bricks, mortar completely gone in places, fireplace floor missing, liner rusted through. Several masons looked at it and told us to tear it down, so we decided to call chimney specialists. We got three bids, all of which were actually about the same price, but ONLY Al and his crew from Always Affordable got up on the roof to fully inspect the chimney before quoting the job (the others were just guessing at the condition of the liner/interior). They had the best plan for safely repairing the stack and answered all of my questions, and Michelle in the office was great about scheduling and keeping everything organized. Al and his crew were super prompt, very efficient and INCREDIBLY neat. They finished a huge job in less than two days and left my home and basement MUCH cleaner than they found it - they even vacuumed the basement stairs! The fireplace looks great and the stack is now solid as a rock. They even did a few extra tasks while they were on the roof, including adding a cap to our sewer vents and tarring a couple of problem spots, no charge. Really awesome company all the way around. They will be our first call for any future chimney work!"

Rich gave us his honest opinion that we were good to go for several more years and he charged only for the cost of coming out to inspect both the chimney and the vent line, as well as offering advice on what to look for ourselves. He strikes me as a very honest guy who won't try to provide any service you don't actually need. My only minor gripe was that it took several attempts over a couple of weeks to get an appointment with Chimney Plus, no doubt in part because it's the busy season. However, I'd rather schedule an appointment for far out in the future than not hear back at all."

"We were hesitant to go with Chimney Savers mainly because of the price - it was thousands more than the nearest competitive bid.  However, in retrospect, we made the right call. <br /> We have a chimney with two fireplaces, one on each floor. "Reached out to Peter by phone on a Friday afternoon for an estimate on a chimney cap and animal guard. Within 10 minutes I had an estimate and an hour later the crew was on the roof completing the job. While on the roof they found that the vent boot was completely deteriorated and replaced that as well. All communication before, during, and after the job was very professional and timely. Probably one of the best home service experiences that I have had!"

"Total Chimney installed a new stainless steel cap over my three flue chimney. An initial misunderstanding about price was quickly and fairly resolved with the owner. The three crews which came to my house were all very professional, although the lead tech at the first visit did not measure, so the special order cap did not fit and a second one had to be ordered.
