".This visit occurred prior to Orville selling the business.  I have always been satisfied with Mr. Hay's work.  He was always up front about his recommendations and what he thought best for the situation and the estimated costs.  He was our first choice of plumbers in the Jacksonville area. <br /> However in 2014, it is a different story.  We needed to have the sump pumps and garbage disposal replaced.  Tried contacting the business several times without success.  We left messages, but did not receive any follow up contact.  I do know that at the time, they were involved with a large job at the grain elevators south of town.   <br /> We finally got tired of leaving messages.  We utilized Manchester Heating and Plumbing.  I was able to talk to a person versus an answering machine.  Chad arrived promptly and efficiently installed the sumps and garbage disposal at a very reasonable price.  He arrived on time and is very professional.  He is fair and honest in his pricing and estimates.  I would highly recommend this local independent contractor. <br />"

"Jones Plumbing was very prompt in getting to us - as with most plumbing problems, speed is important. He explained the problem to our satisfaction and completed the repair in a very timely manner. We were very pleased with their competence, speed of repair and willingness to explain the problem. They left the work site in a very tidy manner (it was not so tidy on their arrival). <br />"

The first time they came out they sent two guys and they attempted to clean the sewer just using the clean out that was in the house, and they weren't able to get it done, so they didn't charge me anything for that trip. They came back two days later with a back hoe, and dig a hole in the backyard and put in and outside clean out and everything. They gave us a 10% discount for seniors, I thought it was very fair since they didn't charge me for the first visit. The guy that came out with the back hoe was actually the owner and he very good with it, it was a hole no bigger than it had to be, and he tried not to damage the lawn anymore than needed. I was really happy with their services. Compared to my previous experience though, they were really trying to fix the problem and make sure I was satisfied."

"Well the service and repair went relatively well but the price......Yowza! We had another plumbing company come out recently because we thought it was leaking again. They did the same exact thing but only charged $70.00. Another issue we had is that we had called Jim out a few weeks before for the same problem and he said he thought the problem was the tank on the back and changed some hardware in the tank and charged $200+ for that. Then we noticed it leaking a week later and that is when we called him out again and charged us $400.00 to reset toilet. While here we asked him how much he'd charge to replace our sink disposal and he quoted my wife a price of $450.00!! We have since asked the other plumber for an estimate and they quoted us a price of $250.00. Overall I'm confident that he is a good plumber but WAAAAAY overpriced. <br />"
