"I chose Carpet Hut to replace the carpeting throughout my rental property at this address. They did such an outstanding job with the quality of carpet and vinyl tile that I chose to the top quality installation I received, They were outstanding in every aspect. They were also running a fabulous sale with 24 months no interest financing and a $500 off coupon. I was so impressed with my experience, I had them do the carpeting in another rental property, also."

"Flawless. Jack, Kevan and team were courteous, professional, timely throughout and pricing was on point. Kevan was thorough with the initial assessment and scope of work to be completed. He provided valuable information as we coordinated with paint contractors. We had to bump up our timeline of putting our house on the market and Jack called me right away and shuffle things around so we could meet our deadline. The day of the job, we had a huge snow storm coming, but they rolled in with a team of 5+ guys and they had our old carpet hauled out and fresh new plushy carpet installed and out of there within 5 hours. Amazingly fast, efficient, kind, professional and great price! Would definitely use them again and highly recommend."

"I had a carpet remnant I wanted installed in one of our upstairs bedrooms. It was up in the attic, balanced across the rafters. I was 8 months pregnant and couldn't climb up there, so one of Cindy's team did. Turns out it wasn't large enough for the room, but Cindy had a remnant of some plush carpet she sold to me - with pad, installed - for around $250. They weren't on time, but did come on the day they said they would and were in and out in about an hour. The carpet looks great and my kids love playing on it!"

"I had them install carpet in our den, which was a converted garage. They were very professional and responsive. The person that came to do the sales and then the person that came to install it were very professional and worked efficiently.

Dycarp followed up after service and after AL published a prior review. They remained friendly, professional, and honest. I would recommend their services and have adjusted the prior published review to reflect the same."

"We contacted Pete and his team to help repair the carpeting in our home that after just 3 years after installation, had begun buckling and bubbling due to improper installation by our builder. Pete was very responsive to our need and provided us a quote within a day and we scheduled our service. He is very knowledgeable and his team was very friendly, respectful, and did phenomenal work while taking special care not to damage any furniture or leave any mess behind. The end result was that our carpet looked brand new and we are now confident that it is properly secured and will last a much longer time. Thanks Pete & Team!"

"I found Dry-N-Clean Carpet Cleaning through a search. The reviews that I read were all very good! My call was answered immediately and the company came out the same day! I was called 30 minutes prior to let me know they were on the way. When Matt arrived to service our carpets he was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Our carpets look brand new again and I couldn’t be more pleased! Matt also left us with a bottle of premium spotter that we can use on spots ourselves! That was icing on the cake! I would highly recommend this company and I will definitely use them over and over in the future! Professional and courteous! They get the job done beautifully!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Chesapeake, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
