"Removed old water heater and installed new water heater and brought water heater up to code. They arrived on time and performed the work efficiently and neatly. The price for the direct vent water heater plus installation was about $250 less than another local quote. Overall I am very satisfied with the price and quality of the installation."

"Our water had gone out a week prior to contacting Plumbing in Pink and was told by a different company that it would take another week to order a part to fix it or we could fix the whole unit for a very hefty price. As we got desperate for hot water we called around and quickly found a tech to come out from Plumbing in Pink. They advised it would be better to replace the unit and offered us a great fair price. If you are in the Myrtle Beach or Greenville area I would highly recommend this company!"

"Andrew from Plumbing in Pink checked problem, ran dishwasher and determined that the issue was not a plumbing problem but an appliance problem. He suggested that we check with the home builder since the dishwasher was new. Andrew was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. I would definitely call Plumbing in Pink again if I had any plumbing issues."

"I don’t have enough words to describe the excellent job that Chad and his team did for us . They completely rebuilt our deck that was falling apart that had been done by Tim Porter( 180 Handyman Solutions) less than 3 years ago . Tim Porter had improperly laid the Trex over old decking . Trex was warping and coming up and falling in due to old deck underneath rotting . That was over 10 k that we had paid Tim Porter. Chad and his team used as much of the Trex they could to rebuild our deck and to help save cost . They also took care of a plumbing emergency while they were working on our deck . We are extremely satisfied with Chad and his team . Our deck is now safe and will last for years to come. Thank you Chad .. David .. Claudius and Bradley!"

"Tuck&Howell technicians responded quickly to my call about a non-working home AC. The technician diagnosed a blown compressor and since our system was 20 years old recommended AC replacement. We researched and decided to replace both the AC and gas furnace to maximize efficiency. The system was diagnosed on Monday, parts ordered by Wednesday, and new system installed Friday morning - just ahead of a heat wave. (We are priority plus plan members at Tuck&Howell and that may have given us some priority - I recommend their priority plus plan service as well, which we've had for some 15 years or so.) The installation went smoothly and the new system is working great. Be sure to ask for a new thermostat, if needed, when you get a new system installed since it may or may not be included by default. We asked and it was provided. Our unit was a Carrier 3-ton, 14-seer unit with AC and gas furnace."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Clemson, SC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
