"Great service and attention to detail. I have had a few of their guys out over the years and they’ve always taken great care of the fireplace and chimney and been extra crest with my tile roof, which can be finicky."

"Got everything cleaned out as expected along with some unexpected items in the flue (rocks, dead birds). Protected the inside with tarps and vacuumed everything up. Recommended and I had a chimney cap installed. Everything was done quickly, efficiently and within budget."
Black stains shows evidence of hazardous cracks in firebox. Top 6” and lintel bar removed from fireplace. Not ever a good idea. Potentially making fireplace unsafe to use.

"The project has taken about 9 weeks and it went very smoothly from start to finish. There were a few different tradesmen that Frank Steward used on the project. As the project progressed each team was scheduled as needed and they showed up on time or even a little early. They were all very professional, and efficient. They took pride in their work and answered any questions/concerns that we had in each step of the way. I didn't realize there would be so much to re-do a fireplace. <br /> Frank had us meet Tony and I showed him several pictures of the mantles that I liked and I looked at his portfolio. He came over to the house to get the dimensions and about a week later he showed us a detailed drawing of his design-which I loved. He is very talented and excellent at his craft. <br /> The first step was to remove the old brick hearth and haul away the debris. Then a block wall was built in front of the old brick facade to increase the depth of the fireplace. The gas line was moved to another wall. Next was the tile. We purchased our marble tile from Walker Zanger. The tile workers helped me arrange them on the floor so I could look at them one more time before installation and they helped organize them. After the tile was installed Tony did the final measurements for the custom alder wood mantel with legs and Frank did the final measurement for the glass doors. While we were waiting for the mantle to be built and painted; the firebox was cleaned out and it was painted black. The burner and gas log sets were installed. <br /> Tony just installed the mantle on Friday and the finished product is gorgeous! He is very detailed oriented and very particular about his work. Now we just need a little winter weather so we can use the remote control to lite the logs. <br /> We were very impressed with Frank and his team; Pablo, Tony, Ray and Carol. Carol is the rep in the office and she was always able to give me an answer to any question that we had along the way. Our experience was nothing but positive and I highly recommend Frank and his team. <br />"

"Originally, my son located and hired Luna's Chimney Sweep to have the fireplace serviced after Who knows how long it's been, as a Christmas present for me. Pedro and Carlos came out. They found no problems except for signs of a leak/drip-marks in chimney. Luna's gave a quote for the leaking roof/chimney to my son but said to check with a roofer for the work as a roofer might do the repair for less. I called a roofer and the quote I received was breathtaking (although the work to be done was very thoroughly noted). I stuck with Luna. Called them to ask if they'd honor the quote, then called again for the service date. Carlos Luna showed up right on time, put on shoe covers before he came in the house, thank you very much. While he was at it, I mentioned that the dryer vent had never been cleaned. (The vent comes out on the roof.) And he also had a look into the heating system. The heating ductwork was recently replaced (old asbestos ducting), so I wasn't worried about that, but had never changed any filters. (and quot;Filters? It has filters <strong>and</strong> duct work? Oh yeah, that makes sense.and quot;) <br /> Carlos put the C-clamp in the chimney (it insures that there is always a slight opening in the flu in case of gas leak). Next, he took care of the dryer, blew or sucked all kinds of lint out the pipe on the roof, then sucked more out from the dryer and vaccumed around the machine. The chimney flashing was last and sealed in a and quot;flash.and quot; Turns out I can replace the furnace filters myself. In all, quick work, perfectly pleasant and responsible person. I'll find out later if the chimney still leaks IF we get any rain. <br />"

"Claudio was polite and professional and took the time to explain the features of the fireplaces and how to maintain them.  (We just bought the home.)  He suggested painting one firebox to improve its appearance and we were pleased with the result.  He went about his work efficiently and we were happy to have all the work done in one afternoon."

"Oliver Twist cleaned our chimney and made the necessary repairs in the firebox to make it safe. There were several cracks and openings. They sealed the walls and also made some repairs on the chimney cap and flashing on the roof. They were very professional and we have recommended them to other friends. <br />"

"Gary was  prompt and professional for each appointment.  On the initial appointment, he patiently answered all my questions, provided a good selection of products to choose from, and gave a quote for services.  The day of service, Gary prepped & painted the inside of the fireplace as well as all hardware on the doors.  For the finishing touches, he installed a new burner and fire glass.  When he left the area was clean and ready to be enjoyed.  My boring, outdated gas fireplace is now updated, and looks great!!!  I'd hire Gary again. <br />"

"I am reviewing Embers West's installation of a Mendota FV44 sealed combustion gas insert (combustion air comes from outside & fumes vent to the outside). The product has a remote with a thermostat & ability to control the flame height, circulating blower speed & a dimmable halogen light. There is electric ignition (no standing pilot flame) & a battery-pack to light the flame in case of a power outage. If you're in the market for a gas fireplace, look no further. Save your time and come here first. You'll be glad you did. We chose Embers West because they had the highest Yelp rating of the several local fireplace businesses (well-deserved - with over 3 dozen reviews). My wife & I had researched gas fireplace inserts online before calling EW & were partial to the Mendota brand. When we met with Francois Tiab (owner & chief technical person), I provided photos & measurements of our 1955 brick fireplace; he agreed that Mendota was our best choice. Francois impressed us enough that we saw no need to check out any other businesses (so I can't comment on his pricing versus others). He was personable, professional & extremely knowledgeable & we enjoyed working with him. Francois made it clear at the start that our project needed several visits from them but I did not ask for a schedule; the project took 3 months & cost a bit over $8k (actually $500 less than the quote- Serryn (office manager) emailed us to say Mendota was having a sale- we would not have known otherwise). If your project needs to be completed quickly - then you should discuss that with Francois up-front. A few times, I had to call to find out the status - Serryn got us an answer right away each time (also when I had tech questions). The installation encountered a snag & Francois quickly resolved it. This is all normal for custom work. The gas line & electrical connection were installed before EW started. Mario was the installer & he was great (friendly, punctual, took time to do things right, brought tarps to protect the carpet & wore protective booties over his shoes). He used a "sniffer" to check for gas leaks. Payments were easily handled online via their website. Their showroom had sample installations to help select finishes & the artificial logs. The finished job looks great & I'm very happy with the results. I definitely recommend Embers West."
