"<p><br /></p> <p>A couple of years ago I acquired an older home. The home is nearly 50 years old and in need of repair. The chimney and fireplace had not been maintained/serviced for over 20 years. There was a lot of soot/creosote on the front of the fireplace. I called A to Z Chimney Sweeps. They came out and performed an inspection and cleaning. </p> <p>Their staff performed an inspection using a camera - I was able to see if there was any significant damage to the interior of the chimney. During the inspection their staff found the chimney did not have a "cap" - the lack of which was allowing rain to go down the chimney and possibly cause damage. The crown to the chimney was cracked and needed repairing.  I inquired about the damper which was perfectly functional, but difficult and awkward for me to access. </p> <p>On the first visit the staff cleaned and inspected the fireplace and chimney. Applied a cap to the chimney and installed a heat reflector. On the second visit, the crown was repaired, the new damper was installed and the fireplace was painted with a "paint and peel" product" to remove the creosote from the front of the fireplace. </p> <p>I absolutely love the new damper?so easy to use. The best part of their service was the ?paint and peel? fireplace cleaner they applied to the front of the fireplace. After allowing the product to dry for 36 hours I peeled it off this morning and the fireplace looks amazing. The ?paint and peel? product removed about 90 to 95% of the creosote and soot from the front of the fireplace. It?s a stone fireplace and it looks amazing! So glad I did this as I am heading into a remodel next week and the paints I chose will no longer be flattering to the fireplace.</p> <p>I?m thrilled with A to Z Chimney Sweeps. The staff behaved in a professional manner. They were quick and efficient ?as quick as you can be given the nature of their service. Cleaned up after completing the job. They answered all my questions, never took offense to my never ending list of questions. Gave me all the costs for each aspect of the total service. I could say ?yay or nay? to any of it. "Local Professionals come through: I had a water flow problem on the front center part of my roof that resulted in some of the sheathing under the overhang to dry rot. I also had a rain gutter with damage caused by a leaning tree. I called Roofmasters for a free quote. Johnathon explained the process and answered all my questions. Aaron arrived on-time for the quote on 8/27/2018. He explained what caused the dry rot and answered my questions regarding concerns I had about other areas of my roof. He put my mind at rest – telling me that my roof appeared to be in good shape except for the area that brought him there that day. I received the written quote on 8/31/2018 for the roof and gutter repairs and scheduled the work to be done on 9/14/2018. They called 30 minutes before arrival as promised. They were professional, courteous, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves well. They even replaced a couple cracked tiles at no additional charge. They are a local company (Suisun City, CA) that obviously still takes pride in their work. This seems to be a trait that is in short supply these days. I’ll definitely call them again the next time I need help with my roof."

"Stan and his staff did an excellent job. They were on time and got the job done right. Very easy to work with and the price was good. We had a bit of a "special" circumstance -- a family of racoons living in chimney - they were over 2 stories down the chimney. Stan and his crew did all the work they could and capped the chimneys except for the one that the racoons inhabited. Stan had his team check back regularly, even weeks after the bulk of the work was done and paid for, and capped off the final chimney when the racoons were gone! We appreciated his diligence and getting that done for us!"

"Our 40 year old home is new to us, and we were told by a friend, who is not a professional with chimneys, that we would need a new flue and dampers before we should use our fireplaces, as neither had had chimney caps for years and some rusting had accumulated inside and ruilned the dampers, too. We installed chimney caps to remedy the water damage. Then we found Village Sweep on the internet and called them, explaining we needed an evaluation and quote to replace the flue and dampers.  They service Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Contra Costa Counties and were willing to come all the way to the furthest point of Napa County to our house to do the job, with no extra charges for travel time.  The technician arrived on time and had a cheery disposition.   He looked the part of a Chimney Sweep, but did his job with confidence and professionalism, taking care to minimized soot entering the house as he cleaned the chimneys and thoroughly cleaning up any that did.  During and after cleaning he evaluated the flue and dampers.  He acknowledged the rust but explained the issues clearly and assured us there was no need to replace the flue.  He used lubricant spray and some good old elbow grease and dislodged both dampers back to working order, letting us know that they both were hearty and just needed to be lubricated and used.  He assured us our chimney would work well, explained chimney top damper options, and encouraged us to call for another cleaning after each cord of wood.  We now use our fireplaces every day to heat our house and roast marshmallows with the kids."

"Chim Chimney came out three times and told me they were unable to clean my chimney because it was too tall (needed a ladder taller than 40').  I called around looking for a company with a taller ladder and Village Sweep said they didn't have a taller ladder, but were interested in the job.  They asked me to send some pictures, inside and out, then said they thought they could get it done.  They sent two techs (which is why the price was higher - but advised me of this over the phone).  When the techs arrived, they checked out the roof and decided it wasn't that big of a deal to clean it.  Instead of placing the ladder in the soft ground in the back of the house - as Chim Chimney attempted, they went up the front and used the concrete sidewalk to anchor the ladder.  A second, shorter ladder was needed to get from the low roof to the high roof.  The guys really didn't see why it was such a big deal.  They cleaned the chimney, did an inspection, and offered to install a cap (additional charge). <br /> When we moved in, the chimney hadn't been cleaned by the previous owners (ever?) and was filthy.  Every time the wind blew, the house stunk like smoke.  Now that it's clean, the smell is gone. <br /> It's nice to deal with a company whose employees are good at what they do!  They said the job really only needs one tech, so next time it would be the regular price. <br /> <br /> <br />"
