"I actually have several carpeting company information on hand at last month of 2013. based on online review and previous customer's experiences. We called Bill's carpet and trying to get the quote. They answer the phone very quick and said they can have somebody to stop by my house and estimate my basement and give us quotation... I have 2550 sqare feet house, and walk out basement. The basement probably about 1100 sqare feet. The quotation is $2500 including carpet and labor, which my husbank and I accepted. We set up the installation schedule date for two days later. And they did very nice job and very efficiancy. My husband, two kids and I are all very enjoy our new carpet and all finished basement. <br />"

"Chad and Kyle called and could come earlier than scheduled, and that was great for us. They wore shoe protectors when coming in and out of the house, and protected our wall corners from the air duct exhaust hose. They were extremely professional and got right to work. We could hear all the 20+ years of debris going out through the air duct hose. Not sure if previous owners of our house ever ducts cleaned before, but we're sure glad it was done right for us. After the ducts were cleaned, they got right to work on the carpet. It looked so much brighter when they were done. They used their truck mounted extraction method, and it didn't take too long for the carpet to dry afterwards. Would highly recommend! They will be our go-to cleaners in the future!"

"Just want to add to my previous review. When laying the linoleum sheet, there were some objects caught between the sheet and the floor. Even after repeated calling and reminding the problems were not fixed. I finally gave up on him and now everytime we walk on that area of the floor, we always feel it beneath our feet. I fear that this part of the floor is going to be damaged soon.  <br /> About the job :  <br /> The job was fairly simple since there was a solid base of the previous linoleum flooring in both the areas. The whole process of getting a quote, installation went very smoothly. Aaron is very soft spoken, professional and he understood every requirement and concerns we had. He also installed the transitions from LVT or Linoleum to the hardwood floors and applied coats of polyurethane to match the hardwood flooring."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Frankenmuth, MI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
