Small jobs welcome

"I recently hired Iron Brothers Construction in Nashville for tree work and stump removal, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They did an excellent job from start to finish—everything was completed efficiently and within a very reasonable timeframe. The pricing was fair and competitive, especially considering the quality of the work. What really stood out to me was how personable and professional the owner was. He made the whole process easy, communicated clearly, and made sure everything was done right. If you’re looking for reliable, high-quality tree services, I highly recommend them. I’ll definitely be using them again in the future!"

"This company was hired to pressure wash vinyl siding on house, detached garage, driveway, deck and apply special cleaner to gutters on outside and clean the inside of the gutters. This may be a little long, but I want to be fair in my review. The cleaning and sealing of driveway was done to my satisfaction. The vinyl cleaning on the house was done to my satisfaction except for the ceiling on the front porch and I believe it was missed entirely, but I did not see this during my inspection of the job. The gutters were poorly done. I was told that by using this special cleaner that the gutters would look almost new again. I could not tell any difference in them after having paid extra for this service. The inside gutters on the garage were not cleaned and I knew this because I could stand on my deck and see inside (a casualty of the storm). They came out and cleaned them the next day. It made me question the rest of the house because water was still pouring over the sides after a rain so I hired another company to clean them. It took them 1-3/4 hours to clean the insides and here is where the problems begin. A storm came up the day they were cleaning my house and they just stopped where they were in the cleaning process and left. My son was home so he knew when they arrived and when they left. I don't think they knew anyone was at home. The problem with them leaving and not returning that day is that my garage did not get rinsed properly and it left big streaks all over it where the soap had dried. I told them of the problem and they came right out to remedy the problem. The only problem with this is that they were rinsing it in an incorrect manner. Since they let the soap dry on it and it was now baked in, they needed to take a brush and go side to side on every "board" with the grain, but they rinsed and used the brush up and down and not consistently I might add. This technique did not fix the problem. When I told the owner that I watched them with my own eyes and explained to him the way they did it, he politely told me I was mistaken. When he questioned his workers about it they told him they did go side to side, but I'm sorry I was there and they did not. My only regret is that I didn't video tape it. They came back again and again the same problem so he now tells me it was some other problem with my vinyl in the way that it was made. That puzzled me because when you rinsed using a brush going side to side with the grain of the vinyl it looked fine. I also had an expert look at it and they concurred that it was dried on cleanser. Brown's simple didn't want to take the time it was going to require to rinse it properly so they just said it was a problem with my vinyl. After a third time I just gave up. It looked somewhat better than in the beginning so I just left it alone before my vinyl truly did get ruined. You can only see it at an angle. When the sun is shining on it which is most of the day, you can't really see it and that may have been another reason the workers couldn't see it when they were working on it, but I asked that they come in the morning so they could see it better, but they never did. I have attached photos. Another issue I had is that I paid $350 to have my deck cleaned and they did not clean the underside. My deck is on the 2nd floor and I have patio underneath it so you walk and sit under it. When asked about it they just responded with "we never clean the underside". I understand for decks that are low to the ground, but again this is over my patio. Why would this not been communicated to me and asked if I would like it cleaned? I could have paid extra to have the underside cleaned, but my driveway and patio had just been sealed and I didn't want to clean dirt off over the newly sealed patio and pay extra money on top of what I thought was a fair price that should have covered "all" of the deck. It took two guys 1- 3/4 hours to clean only the inside of the gutters, and it took this company with two men 2-1/2 hours to clean my house, detached garage, gutters inside and out, driveway and deck? You can be the judge if a good job can be done in that amount of time for all of these jobs. I don't like to leave negative reviews and as stated, I didn't have any issues with the house cleaning or the driveway. This company has good reviews from others, so I would like to believe had the storm not come up that day that my job would have been good as well. But a storm did come up, they left and in turn caused some issues that were never resolved to my satisfaction and I did not feel like arguing with the owner about it so I dropped it and hiring others to re-do the areas that need help."

"Clay and Jeff Morris presented themselves very well. Very professional. It was a very easy business transaction on my side. They let me know what was going on, what they were doing during the whole process. It was great all around. Their crew didn't leave a mess, they were clean and neat. Nothing was left behind. It was a very clean process all the way around."

"We purchased an older home with neglected landscaping that required professional help. Our quote from All-American Lawn Works was really reasonable considering the amount of work needed. We couldn’t believe the transformation and attention to detail. Their work turned our overgrown outdated landscaping to maximum curb appeal. They finished it all in a day as a bonus. We have referred them to many neighbors and friends who were also happy with their work. Will continue to recommend."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Franklin, KY

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
