"I thought this would be a very hard and therefore potentially expensive job given that the roof beams were over 25 feet of the ground. Additionally, in the back, where the beams needed to be replaced and not just repaired, there is no flat ground given that the house sits on a hill.  There were 11 beams in total.  Greg and Dennis came out to look at the job and we talked it through.  I knew what i wanted to do, but Dennis had some ideas to improve upon my original ideas.  Dennis and Greg repaired all of the beams by cutting them off flush with the house and repainting them.  Several of the beams in the back (that were not structural) were beyond repair and Dennis made new beams to match the others perfectly.  They also cut all the ends of the beams at and angle, and added bird spikes to keep the squirrels from getting on the beams under the roof (Dennis's idea) to help protect them better.  They also repaired some rotted wood siding on the back of the house and replaced several structural pieces on my front porch.  I did not have sufficent old paint, so they got new paint that matched.   <br /> The bottom-line is that Dennis and Greg met all my expectations.  I have used Dennis before and therefore knew what to expect of his quality of work to the point that i was not home when they did all the work.  When i came home from vacation, the work was done, and needless to say, i was very happy with the results as expected.  Dennis provides high quality work at a reasonable price, making it an easy choice for me when it comes to woodwork and remodeling jobs. <br /> <br />"

"Lesson learned the hard way: It's almost been a year since the big storm that hit parts of the Dallas area on 6/9/19. Straight line winds hit up to 85 mph in some areas. One area hit hard was our neighborhood in Lake Highlands. As clean up began the next day, it was evident that every house on our street was going to need a new roof. After examining the work that had been done, it has been determined NONE of the flashing around all of our exhaust fans on the roof had been flashed correctly. Furthermore, the gutters were not hung correctly which has already caused water damage in the form of wood rot. The next day Scott Exteriors solved all of our problems with the roof.
