"Very well. Cody arrived promptly and did a full inspection of the roof and gutter areas. No entry points were found. He provided an estimate for bait control stations for mice, chipmunks, etc. The estimate was very reasonable and we plan to call them back to place the bait control stations."

"Brett is responsive, friendly, and efficient! He gets the job done, relocates the (groundhog - in this case) safely and far enough away that it doesn't find his way back to us. Very pleased- this is our 2nd time using Ambition Pest Control & they have solidified a permanent place in our Go-To for such services. Thanks, Brett!"

"Great job - came out in a timely manner, located and plugged the openings, installed an exit for the bats. When they were gone, he came back, removed the exit and plugged the hole; the multi year guarantee is nice and he already came back when i thought the bats were back (nope, chimney swifts, chimney cap ordered). Highly recommend."

"I found KC Critter Solutions after having a bat show up in my house in the middle of the night. The owner of the business came out the next morning and did a thorough walk through inside and outside of my home. He also climbed up on my roof to get a better look at the chimney and surrounding area to assess my situation. He was very knowledgeable and shared a great deal of insight as to how the bat most likely got inside. The owner/technician is polite, professional, and offered reassurance of solutions which helped calm my nerves. I did learn bats aren’t always a simple “fix” but I found KC Critter Solutions to be honest, reasonable in cost, and someone who genuinely wants to help. I’d trust them to help me again!"

"

I am very disappointed with the overall service I received from Blue Valley Pest Control. I called Chris (the owner) because I had noticed that insects were putting holes in our front doorframe. Chris came over and inspected our property and took care of the run-of-the-mill insects but said that he was unsure what was causing the holes in our doorframe. He said that his best guess was that they were carpenter ants and that he would treat them as such. I was a little bit surprised by the fact that he was unable to identify the cause of the damage when he claims to have over 30 years of experience. Nonetheless, I had him treat for the carpenter ants.

Later that day, I contacted Chris again to let him know that I was fortunate enough to witness the insect going back into one of the holes and that I took a couple pictures of it. He asked me to send him the pictures so he could properly identify it and so we could take the proper course of action. However, after sending him the pictures, I never heard back from him. I have tried calling him, leaving him a couple voicemails, and even sent him an email (all of which were ignored). I was quite surprised because Chris has a great personality and seemed very friendly. As a result, I am now forced to contact another pest control company to take care of what I expected Blue Valley Pest Control to do in the first place.

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Grain Valley, MO

Bats slip through gaps as small as 1/4 inch, so your best defense is a thorough seal-up and a few simple habit tweaks. Start by caulking or screening every crack around chimneys, eaves, and vents. Swap dim porch bulbs for brighter LEDs or motion lights (bats dislike the glare), and consider an ultrasonic deterrent if they keep circling.

Finally, remove easy snacks—cover standing water and skip the nighttime bird-feeder refills. These steps go a long way toward keeping your home bat-free.

Standard homeowners’ insurance rarely pays for bat removal because insurers view it as routine maintenance. You might get partial help for guano cleanup or related repairs, but that varies by policy. Review your insurance policy carefully and contact your provider for a definitive explanation. Securing all entry points remains the homeowner’s responsibility to prevent future incursions.

The sweet spot for bat exclusion is late summer through spring. That window keeps you inside most state rules and protects baby bats that haven’t learned to fly yet. Removal activities are conducted when bats are less active, with some states permitting work from August through May and others ceasing removal in March. Consult a qualified bat removal specialist to confirm the valid timeframe for your area.

Spotting a dead bat can be unsettling, but a calm, careful approach keeps everyone safe. First, call your state wildlife office to report the find and ask about local rules. Snap a quick photo from a distance, then—wearing disposable gloves—place the bat in a sealed plastic bag for disposal as directed.

Wipe down nearby surfaces with disinfectant, wash your hands thoroughly, and schedule a pest-control pro to make sure no live bats (or harmful guano) remain hidden in the house.
