"They did a great job. Nick was so knowledgeable and provided great customer service. The crew was professional and the amount of equipment they brought to do the job well was impressive. They were all very hard working. My mom had them re-seal her driveway and I had them install a new driveway. Now my brother and sister in law and my sister and brother in law are going to use them too. Would definitely use them again They also made sure not to get it on my new retaining wall or my newly done brick pavers. Very detail-oriented. And Perfecto who was the job site foreman is just like his name would imply-a perfectionist about the work. "

"They were suppose to seal the road and fill the cracks, but all they did was lightly “paint” it,you can still see all kinds of cracks, all they did was a half a** job,the first freezing rain will fill those cracks and break up the asphalt, and the next time this has to be done, will be by someone who knows what they are doing,I give them a ….F+"

"I got a quote for putting in a new 650 ft chip and tar driveway and resurfacing a 100 ft asphalt driveway. There were several delays (reportedly due to weather). When a time slot became available, it was already into the cold season and I was told that chip and tar could not be done. We opted to install the gravel base for the new driveway and finish the job in the spring. The work on the gravel base layer was excellent; neat and professionally installed, for which I was billed and paid. However, that is far as we have gotten. It is now July and I cannot get CAPS out to complete the job. I have called repeatedly and have been given multiple reasons for the delay, and each time getting a promise to get back in touch with me regarding scheduling. Excuses have been a combination of: weather delays, major jobs taking precedence, liquid tar availability, estimator quitting, etc. These are all understandable, but I would think that in 5-6 months, you should be able to get through a 2-3 week backlog and get to my job. I even had some additional work that I wanted them to add to the project; I came close to getting someone out to look at the additional work (someone actually called to schedule a date/time for a site visit), but that also got delayed and never happened. I should mention that the person answering the phone was friendly and seemed sincere in my interactions with her. I really liked CAPs work and reasonable pricing, but getting a response from these folks is like watching rain erode a rock - it takes a little while. CAPs, if you are reading reviews, let customers know if you are not interested in doing their project; don't drag them on. You'll be one step ahead of the competition if you simply communicate with your customers."

"I am very pleased with the driveway. I have waited for almost a month before reviewing. I am a sceptical person by nature. I can honestly sau that they went the extra mile and it is fantastic. The whole crew of people was very pleasant to work with, and the project went smoothly-- not without challenges for them. The paving done here at my house was a physics challenge. I live on a ridge, so the ground is steep. Fuller overcame the challenges to provide me with a wonderful driveway. I would recommend them to my family without reservation. Thanks to all at Fuller!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Johnson City, TN

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
