"They were great in every aspect. They have followed up with me a couple times on their own after install just to check on my satisfaction with how the new shingles are holding up."

Customers say: Quality work

"This company required more money from my insurer and simply did NOT do the work specified in the Scope of Work. Estimate and payment included replaced trusses and they installed none, this there is a dip in the roofline. I consider this insurance fraud. You will never talk to someone with the company if you have any issues. I have proof of calls promised in August not completed until November & many emails and texts unanswered. They also had no record of a check in the amount of $2,300+ that I made in July (which I proved with a copy of the negotiated check signed by them) so they over charged me. Even after proof that I have payed nearly $7,500 they still billed me just this week, ignoring my proven payments. Cant get nobody to return my call. Also, job took almost one full year to complete. I believe they know they are wrong that is why nobody will personally contact me. Until they straighten out their billing deduct the cost of trusses never replaced I have 0 intention of making a final payment. If they arent embarrassed or are not in the wrong they should make a call to me to resolve."

"I had originally called as I had some storm damage and needed them to look at a couple shingles. When they came out, they assured me they didn't need to go up onto the roof at all and told me I had some nail pops and the obvious shingles that were missing. I was quoted for the work (just under $1000) and had to put $500 as a deposit. fast forward to the day they came out. Not only did they bring a shingle not even close but when the project manager was up on the roof told me that I had way more going on up on the roof and they highly recommend replacing the whole roof due to water damage and condition of shingles. At this point I did my due diligence and shopped around after getting the quote for a full roof replacement. I got quotes from 4 other companies who all came up quite a bit lower (material costs across the board were lower), and the icing on the cake was the fact that EVERY SINGLE ONE asked me the question why didn't the first company go up on the roof at first as they all agreed I needed to replace it. So, if Cochran would have just went on the roof in the first place I wouldn't have had to even put the original deposit in which they didn't even fix issues as it needed replaced and so I paid essentially $500 for them to caulk a couple place and not just go on the roof THE FIRST TIME and find the issue up front... I called to let them know I was going with another company who was a much lower quote for the exact same work, and they didn't even offer a refund (ethical thing to do since they didn't even go on roof at first) and even admitted that they should have just gone on the roof the first time when I asked them to! If you are looking for a quote from this company, all I have to say is just avoid or be careful."

"Had a tough time getting them out to do the work even after paying. The dryer vent had to be replaced because what they installed just wasn't a dryer vent...It took a couple of weeks to show up for that. They finally got the roof, window and facie wraps up toward the end of September. By the following march facia wraps were falling off. At first I was told they would take care of it but it never happened. Now 3 months later and I can't even get a call back from them. I suspect they're out of business and gone but I'm going to try to hold them to their "lifetime workmanship warranty"

FAQs for asphalt shingle roofing installation and replacement projects in Lafayette, IN

Roofing professionals can usually install a medium-sized asphalt shingle roof in two to three days. Installation time increases if your roof is particularly steep or difficult to access or has features like chimneys or skylights that roofers must work around.

Three-tab asphalt shingles usually have the lowest upfront cost of any roofing shingle material. They’re sturdy and typically last 15 to 20 years. However, they may have a shorter lifespan in especially hot or cold climates. Talk to a local roofing professional about the best materials for your climate. In some cases, materials with a higher upfront cost may save you more on repairs or replacements in the long run.

Start by multiplying the length by the width of your roof to calculate the square footage. Most shingle replacement costs $4 to $12 per square foot for materials and labor, depending on factors like the material and the slope of your roof. Once you know the size of your roof, you can calculate a rough estimate of total costs or contact a local roofing professional to provide you with a custom quote.

Asphalt shingles are generally considered to be a low-maintenance item. However, cleaning your asphalt roofing can help prolong the lifespan and keep it looking fresh. If you’re comfortable with DIY and have the proper equipment, you may be able to clean your asphalt shingles yourself. However, if you have an especially high or steep roof, it’s usually safer to hire a professional roof cleaner.
