"I hired Aqua Sewer & Drain to repair a leaking pipe under the slab of my home - by no means a simple job. Alec was clear with my repair options and the cost estimate. He and Jeff together were able to perform the entire repair process including removing and replacing the flooring, jackhammering the slab, and the leak repair itself. Throughout the process, they kept the work area neat and kept me updated on their status. Once the job was complete, it was as if there was never a trench in my living room. I was completely satisfied with their work and recommend Aqua Sewer & Drain."

"The overall process was quick and easy. They were able to come to my house within a day or two of being contacted, then found the leak, ordered the parts and installed them all within about a week. I would definitely hire them again for any of my plumbing needs."

"This company is fantastic!!! We had a natural gas leak in 7 of our connections on the outside of our buildings. When NJNG left, 1 phone call brought Tony and Jay to our building. They diagnosed the problem, corrected all, and did a full reset on all of our appliances! They were very knowable, professional, and personable!! Price was fair for the work done! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GARON-T FOR ALL YOUR HEATING AND PLUMBING NEEDS! KC GREUTER FACILITIES MANAGER"

"Actually this is 5 stars for NOT doing the job! He came and after examining the way the water was coming out from the bottom of the toilet, he deduced it wasn't just the wax seal, but probably a clog. He doesn't do clogs, but he referred me to someone who did, and they came out, found and snaked out roots that were in there, then replaced the wax seal and all's well. But the point is some plumbers (and I've dealt with them) would have just replaced the seal, but it would have just blown back out, and I would have ended up paying for double jobs. But he didn't do that - he turned down some easy money to make sure I had the problem fixed correctly. Such professionalism and honesty isn't found everywhere! So while he didn't actually do the job, he gets 5 stars for being, as i said, honest and professional, and getting me to the right people."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Lakewood, NJ

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
