The tech said that the opener is nearing the end of life, as it was installed in 1996. I might have entertained just having it replaced if I was home at the time, but I was at work and my wife was home during the repair. I'm not sure how much time I bought for $200, but will definitely plan on replacing it the next time it acts up. <br />"
