Customers say: Quality work

"This was a multi-task job. existing wood refinished, new wood floor added, and in basement laminated floor added. Dawn and Sam saw that every part of the job was done perfectly. Joe & Candance did a great job installing the laminated wood. The quality of the product they use gives me great confidence that I will enjoy my floors for many years. I cannot say enough good things about our experience, but above all else we had trust and confidence that we would be well taken care of!"

Small jobs welcome

"Paula came out to give us an estimate and compared to 3 other local companies their price was the lowest. The hardwood floor refinish that Alex did was very professional. Our home is 17 years old and some hardwood areas had to be replaced too. Everything blends and looks as good as new. A BIG thanks to them!"

"I want to express how delighted we are with our experience using Angi's service and meeting David of Triple Diamond Flooring. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with David's professionalism and passion for his work. He truly sees each floor as a work of art, which resonates with me as I share the same dedication to my own job. This understanding gave me the confidence to trust him completely. Our project was quite intricate, involving refinishing our old floor and adding carpeted areas. David skillfully matched our red oak, beautifully lightening its prominence through bleaching and applying a combination of stains that perfectly complements the overall aesthetic of our home. I am absolutely thrilled with the result. Thanks to David's expertise, the transition between the old and new wood flooring is seamless, and I cannot even distinguish between the two."

"We recently had BP Flooring Solutions install luxury vinyl plank flooring in our bathroom as part of a remodeling project, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Josh, the installer, did an excellent job from start to finish. He replaced a section of water-damaged subfloor, installed new underlayment, and finished everything off with fresh baseboards—all with great attention to detail. Josh was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire process. It’s clear he takes pride in his work, and the final result shows it. The project was completed at a very reasonable price, which we truly appreciated. Overall, we’re extremely satisfied and would highly recommend BP Flooring Solutions—and especially Josh—for anyone looking for quality flooring installation."

Customers say: Quick response

"Summit Hardwood Floors was an excellent choice for our project of refinishing hardwood floors that were in very bad shape. Mark was first off the mark to give us an estimate based on an on-sight visit, gave a detailed explanation of the work and next steps. He performed the work as he said he would when he said he would and the floors turned out beautifully. Couldn't be happier we picked Summit."

"We received three bids for the job. ProWorks was more expensive than the other two, but their bid included things the other bids did not, which is why we chose them. First, the existing prefinished hardwood had been installed without removing the baseboards, and instead a strip of shoe molding had been attached over the floor to cover any gaps. It was really ugly and looked unprofessional. ProWorks was the only company that offered to remove the baseboards to see how bad the gaps might be and if possible replace the baseboards with a thicker baseboard to cover any gaps; the other companies said I was stuck with the shoe molding (I've attached pics to better explain this issue, since it was basically the deciding one for us). Second, ProWorks promised a time to completion that was shorter than the others by several days. Since the work was encompassing the entire first floor of our house, including the kitchen, less time out of commission, even by only two or three days, was a big bonus, especially as it meant the work would encroach on only one weekend rather than two. Third, ProWorks was the only company that included in their bid the cost and scheduling of movers to move our furniture into the garage to get it out of the way, and to move it back after the job. This was a real convenience not to have to coordinate this ourselves. Jose and his team did the installation and the sanding/refinishing (September 2015). They did the job in the time allotted, there was not too much mess, and we stayed in the house for the duration except for one night, when Jose recommended being in a hotel because of the fumes from the finish and also because the floor needed not to be stepped on in any way for a period of several hours. The new floors are gorgeous and we love them. There were a couple of issues, and this is where ProWorks really shined. The first was immediate, when I observed that the posts from the stair banister had been put back a sort of ugly way after the replacing of the treads. New banisters were not part of the scope of work, but when I mentioned that the connection to the stair was clumsy--more than it had been before, Anthony (who is their jobsite supervisor) came out to check it out and agreed with me. ProWorks sent a stairs team out to fix the issue within a day or two. The second issue took longer to come up. The existing floor had been done in prefinished hardwood, which meant the boards had a "microbevel" on the edges to make for easier installation. This meant that it needed to be sanded for refinishing more deeply than a regular hardwood floor to get past the microbevel. The first team did not sand it quite deeply enough, so that there were still wide cracks between the boards, which they filled in with filler. Within a couple of week, the filler started to come up out the floor, especially in the kitchen, where the floor gets walked on a lot. This left the large cracks in the floor exposed, not to mention the shards of filler constantly scattered all over the floor. I discussed the problem with ProWorks, and they agreed to have someone come back and resand and finish the preexisting floor to take care of the microbevel and the filler issue. They asked me if it could wait until January (2016) when they would be less busy, and I agreed. They arranged for the work to happen over the three-day weekend when we were planning to be out of the house anyway. Again, they arranged to have movers come and move the relevant furniture (including fridge and stove) into the garage before and back after the job. I believe the second team was led by Daniel, who kept in touch with me throughout by phone since we were out of town. ProWorks did not charge us anything for the corrections. A couple notes on communication: Jennifer does all the coordinating, and I found that phone is better than email to reach her. Anthony can be a bit of a pill--I kind of felt he considered it his job to keep my expectations realistic. For example, we had had the bid done by Matt, including the conversations about the baseboards, and in the midst of the job, Anthony tried to convince me that trying to replace the baseboards was not feasible, but when I insisted, he agreed and made sure it got done well. So, basically, he just wants to make sure you really want what you want, but in the end, he wants to make sure you get it, too. This worked for me, as I appreciated the pushback to know what really was doable and what wasn't, but also appreciated that once it was decided, it stayed decided and I didn't have to have that discussion again. The two team leaders, Jose and Daniel, were great and made sure I always knew where they were in the process. We've now lived on the floor for a year and we love it. Jobs this big rarely go perfectly, and I was very happy with the way ProWorks handled the problems. At no time did I feel like I was dealing with a faceless company who didn't care about my job once they had my money. I have recommended them to others, including people who have admired our floors without even knowing that it was work we had done."

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Littleton, CO

Rental sanders can address moderate surface damage, but their effectiveness depends on scratch depth and overall floor condition. Drum sanders offer the most aggressive removal capability for deeper imperfections. However, if the damage extends into the wood structure or affects large portions of the floor, board replacement by an expert might be necessary before sanding. Consult a flooring professional for help.

Always thoroughly review the manufacturer's operating instructions before starting. Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles to protect your eyes and a respirator to prevent inhalation of dust. Inspect electrical components before each use to prevent shock hazards. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and maintain a clean space by frequently vacuuming dust accumulation to prevent slipping and to ensure you can see well.

Sandpaper requirements depend on floor size, condition, and the sanding approach. Plan to use multiple grit levels (coarse, medium, and fine) with at least one to two sheets per 100 square feet for each grit. Floors with significant damage or multiple finish layers will require more coarse-grit sheets. Purchase extra supplies before beginning because running out mid-project can cause visible inconsistencies in the final result.
