Small jobs welcome

"Dave answers calls and responds in a timely way. He Installed an additional concrete section to our driveway and did a great job for us. He is a busy man, but got our project done when he had agreed to do it. He is extremely competent in his work, as well as being hard working and a great communicator. I would highly recommend him."

"They did a great job. They made sure that they kept everything clean. Sometimes concrete can be very messy so they made sure none of the splatter got all over. The concrete was cleaned off where it had splattered and they did a touch up so no clumps were left over. They did an awesome job. I'd highly recommend them."

"Our entire experience with them was amazing from start to finish. The whole team all has such excellent customer service!! The price was the most competitive estimate we got. Pedro was very responsive and communicated throughout the entire project. We had new concrete steps poured, a deck torn down/new patio poured, and an asphalt driveway torn up and new concrete driveway poured. It was perfectly graded away from our house to keep water away (a problem we had before). We have had multiple neighbors ask who completed our driveway since they finished. He even returned late in the evening one day to help assist installing rails on our new concrete steps. We would hire him again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend him."

"Heriberto, German, and the rest of the crew did a wonderful job putting in my new concrete driveway, sidewalk, and a fence with gate. I can't say enough about the very reliable service and job quality. If you want great customer service, reliability, and resourcefulness ( I presented them with a gate kit and fence section). German not only took the kit to his home to construct, but he and Heriberto installed it, perfected it and the fence, and surprised me with a lovely gate handle (which the kit did not include). It was also a pleasure having them at my home because they were kind, friendly, happy, and hard-working. If you want a concrete job done right, please hire these men."

"Mr. Mayne came as scheduled to examine the site and determined the cost for replacing the porch and steps. He described how he would also fill a crack between the porch and the walk and agreed to extend the width of the steps and to repair a crack between the steps at the side of the house. I asked about installing a rail on the steps. He replied that if I obtained the rail, he would install it. He called the next day with the amount he would charge which seemed reasonable from information we had from other sources. He said they could do the work in a week and a half. When I explained that I had not yet found a rail, he said that they could do the work and when I obtained the rail, he would come back and install it. They came at the scheduled time and did a great job removing the damaged porch and building a new one.
I was impressed with Mr. Mayne's answers to my questions and his assessment of the best option for repairing or replacing the porch.  The work was done efficiently and a concrete spill was cleaned up thouroughly.  The workers were friendly and cooperative in every way.  Mr. Mayne reiterated his willingness to install a rail when I obtained it.

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Louisville, KY

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
