"Devin was very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He was willing to be flexible with his service fee based on whether or not my microwave could be fixed. While my microwave was repairable, he was honest and told me that I would be much better off getting a new microwave. I really appreciated his honesty. I will absolutely call Devin at Affordable Appliance Repair Technicians in the future. "

"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"After calling the manufacturer (LG) since the motor still had 3 years under warranty, they recommended AAA Appliance Service Center as one of their authorized companies for repairs. Everyone was pleasant and professional--from the initial call and scheduling to the technician's visit. I did have to wait a little over a week for a technician to come out to diagnose the problem, but they were able to come earlier in the day than scheduled. Ivan, the technician was terrific. He was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and polite. While inspecting the motor under the machine, he noticed that the bolts holding the motor in place were very loose and coming off. He double-checked that all the related parts were in good condition and then tightened up the bolts. He ran a spin cycle with the machine empty and it worked perfectly. The service charge for the visit (which was lower than other competitors) is good for 30 days if any other problems occur. I've since done 5 loads of laundry and the machine is once again working perfectly. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of this company."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"Excellent service! The technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Over the years, I've had several home appliance warranty companies. Without question, Complete Appliance Protection is the best one I've ever contracted with. Their monthly price is a little higher than most, but I do have their best protection plan with $0 deductible. You get what you pay for..."

"Fred came to look at my refrigerator which had stopped cooling and within a few minutes had diagnosed the problem. He did not have the correct part with him but within 1.5 hours he had the part and replaced it. I was extremely happy with the communication before during and after the repair. I will not hesitate to call for other appliance repairs and would recommend him to everyone."

"Wife's comments: First of all, I have to say that I really love my new bathroom. The finished product is wonderful. With that said: there were some unforseen issues that occurred, like having to send the bathtub back twice. First time it arrived with a crack on one corner, second time there were several spots that the acrylic had not been applied adequately during manufacturing. Neither of these things being the handyman's fault. I was informed of all these problems as they occurred, and the handyman seemed to be fairly skilled in dealing with them. BUT, I feel that the verbal estimate that was given prior to starting the project was misleading. The total (final) cost was given as somewhere between $5000 and $6000. I was lead to believe that it included all materials, as well as basic (cheaper) tub, vanity, toilet, flooring, shower tile, and light fixtures. After purchasing these items myself, along with ceramic tile for the floor and some materials used to apply it, the final bill I received was still approximately $6000, with $5000 of that labor alone. I realize that I had changed my mind about flooring, and decided to put in ceramic tile instead of vinyl, which may have accounted for some increase in material and labor costs, but I still feel that the final bill was high. I do not have an issue with the cost of materials used, mainly with the labor costs and the time it took to complete the work. My husband had called several bathroom remodeling places and been given an average labor cost of $3000 to $3500 for all the work we had had done, with the job completed in 1 week. With the problems encountered during the job, I assume those estimates may have been low, but that is still a difference of $1500 to $2000. And 3 to 4 weeks is simply too long to deal with not having a working shower. The fact that he works alone may account for the prolonged length of time it took to complete this job. <br /> Husband's comments: He was here way too long, he said 2 weeks, it took him 4 weeks. He charged way too much money for labor when he was really standing around accomplishing nothing most of the time. He also over-charged for the materials and would not give any receipts. This is the worst experience i have ever had with a handyman and would never recommend him to anyone."

"I got the parts I ordered, they were packaged very well and Ashley was an absolute gem to deal with. I had an issue with my parts I received and she jumped right on the matter and resolved it immediately. I am completely happy with this company and will definitely use them again for any parts needed on any of my appliances. Completely professional, courteous and thorough!"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Loves Park, IL

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
