"Preston was wonderful. He explain what he is gonna do and recommend and he followed through. He fixed my last contractor, E R Elite Remodeling, LLC's lousy job. PRESTON fixed it all and made our electrical outlet work again. He worked honestly and he was a very nice and kind gentlemen. I would hire him again for my next upcoming project. "I contracted Switch Electric to run different circuits to install various mechanical equipment for better indoor air quality and other work for the kitchen remodel. Overall experience, from scheduling and communication to last-minute accommodation, was fantastic and transparent. I found that the whole team plays their role sportingly. Aaron Pullen was engaged and involved in understanding the project scope and providing different options. When it came to the actual installation, Anatoliy Matyuk/team was responsive and informative and understood how I wanted to see the overall project. He was not rushing and taking shortcuts. He genuinely cares about what he does and crafts his work to the customer's satisfaction. All work was done swiftly and professionally. I'll call Switch Electric again for my electrical needs and recommend them for solid work ethics and strive to get customer satisfaction."

"I needed electrical charger installed in my home and I inquired on Angie's list. Superior Electric was the first one to respond and came out first thing next morning. John, Sam and Angelo were great guys to work with. Being a nonprofit, we always look for people who can work with our limited budget. They were professional and courteous. They did work as they said promptly and efficiently explaining everything along the way. I would recommend these guys anytime to the people who needs their electrical work done."

"I had told them I would be buying an EV and they said to give them a ring when I was ready to install the charger. Bought the car on Saturday, called them on Monday, installed on Thursday with no drama, apparently excellent workmanship, and in a timely manner. They were even able to do it without disturbing our internet access despite having to move breakers around."

"After sending out requests to multiple electrician contacting online sites (Angi, etc.), we chose Seatown based on two factors that were important to us: 1) competitive hourly rate; 2) resources. The latter was a paticular critical concern since our elecrical problem incident had resulted in an extension cord being seperated from its plug (minor explosion followed by a spark and smoke) during plug into the wall socket, resulting in the circuit going partial "dead". Consequently, we had concerns that a complex issue may be involved. Seatown initally scheduled us for the next day; however, an electrician became available a couple of hours later and they were able to respond at that time (thank you Brenda). Our problem was resolved after the technician, Gage, check the system, electric panel box, and wall plug-ins on the impacted circuit, and we were back to "full power' within a couple of hours. Gage replaced a 35 year old breaker that was part of the issue. Addiionally, we had him check an outside outlet that would occasionally trip the GFI switch. The outside outlet was part of the GFI system for our three bathrooms. Turns out that due to bathroom remodels a few years ago, that paticulair line was near its maximum load, thus causing the GFI trip if anything above a certain out put was plugged in and operated. It shouldn't present a problem going forward now that we know the load limits. We found the total invoice cost fair and market driven; and Gage not only explained the issue(s) but made sure we actually understood in non-electrical terms. Overall a very pleasent, profession exsperience."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Monroe, WA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
