"We bought a shed from Sam's Club and paid to have it assembled and installed. We had a bunch of crushed rock left over from our above ground pool and asked the shed company if we could use this as a base for the shed to go on top of. They said yes. When the guy came out to install the shed, he was surprised they said we could use that base, but installed it anyway. The floor of the shed was so uneven and bumpy. I found KM Tottle on Angies list and called them. He came right out and advised us that we needed a wood base to go underneath and that he could raise the shed and install it underneath and that would level out the floor. They came on the date and time planned and the work is excellent. The floor is perfectly level. I would hire them again in a minute.
"

"The project consisted of new landscaping and beds on both front and side yards. We worked directly with the owner Jack Oswald for the design and he was innovative, highly professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. The landscape staff were very competent, professional, and kind. The quality of all the work that had to be done, including the sprinkler system was exceptional. The completed project is stunning and just like I wanted. My husband and I highly recommend Black Bear Landscaping for your projects. You will enjoy working with them."

"In general, things went pretty well with TC Hafford. When we set appointments, they kept them, and the work was done pretty much as I expected. The principal issue was that the whole process took a great deal of time.
We were having mild mold problems in our home due to moisture in the crawlspace. I found TC Hafford on line and got an estimate from them. The initial meeting was in the spring, and there were several steps to the process. Prior to Hafford's work, we had had all the old fiberglass batting removed, the space cleaned out, and the mold treated. Hafford's first step was install the moisture barrier (durable plastic sheeting) on the cement block walls and stone and dirt floor. That all took place reasonably promptly.
Step two was the installation of the dehumidification equipment: a large dehumidifier and several small fans to move air from certain areas into the space where the dehumidifier is located. This was done over two or three sessions, but getting the last step attended to took several months, and wasn't completed until sometime in the fall. No particular harm was done by the delay, but it was a minor aggravation having to remind them of the need to do the work (which was usually prompted by them billing me and me telling them I wouldn't pay till the work was completed).
Step three was blowing in the foam insulation, and this was delayed because Hafford's was in the process of acquiring their own equipment. This delayed the process by over a month, and didn't take place till mid-summer. Again, there was no harm done by the delay, but it meant that I had to keep checking to find out the status of the project. The foam layer is not as thick as I had anticipated, but the house felt warmer this winter. Also, the overall air quality seems much better, although we have not paid to have the mold levels rechecked.
To their credit, Hafford found someone to remove an old oil tank at a very reasonable cost (this was an added step, since they were uncomfortable about covering up--which I appreciated), and they were open to dealing with my concerns about adequate air flow in the crawlspace. All the people I dealt with were very personable and courteous. I never had the sense that I was getting a run-around, it was just that things took longer than anyone expected.
On the question, "Would I use them again?" I answered yes, because it seems like a company that is trying to do a good job. Over the time of my extended interactions, they were never impatient at my unwillingness to pay prior to completion of the final step, and they never offered flimsy excuses for why things were taking so long. Just the truth. They have a monopoly in this area, as far as I can tell, so I think the price was high, but we had no mold problems this winter, and the spider population has dropped in the bargain so there are fewer cobwebs in the crawlspace, so the product seems to deliver. The plastic sheeting is tough, but not really suitable for a space that has more than occasional traffic. We have an oil burner in the crawlspace, and that has made the white plastic pretty grimy, but it is cleanable. The other advantage to the white plastic is that even with minimal lighting the crawlspace is now much brighter, and much less dungeon-like.
So I've given them a B, which in my view is Honors, but not High Honors.
"

"I interviewed and received bids from several masons before deciding on Shaun and his crew. Shaun was very knowledgeable, low key, not pushy, and priced very competitively. Shaun came the day he said he would be there and finished on the day he said he would finish. His crew cleaned up every day. I had the code officer to the house while Shaun was there to do a wiring inspection and he commented on Shaun's work with and quot;those guys know what they are doing.and quot; It was a pleasure working with SB Masonry and I will use them again for any related projects I have.
"

"I did a lot of research and obtained proposals from three companies. I ultimately selected The Step Guys proposal because in addition to being competitive, they provided me with the best selection of quality product and materials. I also liked the fact that their steps come with a 5 year warranty against any defect in material or workmanship. After the 3-4 weeks needed to manufacture the pre-cast concrete steps, The Step Guys came to my house and performed all of the work in just a few hours. As part of their warranty, they have promised to come back if I find that the steps settle and become out of level. I have gotten nothing but compliments from visitors and my neighbors about my new front steps."
