"This was definitely a 5 star operation from the initial discussions to the finishing touches! For a major renovation and upgrade to our master bathroom we reviewed potential contractors and their customer comments. VKB stood out. Our VKB designer Sean clearly has artistic talent and lots of design experience. He patiently worked with us, showing us 3D design options as we considered alternative configurations and materials. When we were satisfied with the design, Sean transitioned us smoothly to the build phase, introducing Jason as our project manager and Walter as our crew chief. Sean personally familiarized Jason with the project, inviting us to share our thoughts and any concerns. During the renovation, Walter and his crew would carefully isolate the MBR work from the rest of the house, sealing off the room and path to the front door with plastic barriers and floor coverings every morning and remove them every evening. Everyone was polite and sensitive to our living space. Jason was responsive to our wishes to refine several design aspects as the work proceeded, and Walter and his crew smoothly made the alterations. After the main construction was completed Jason remained very attentive to our ‘punch list’ of remaining details and our questions until all had been resolved. Walter ensured very high-quality work down to the finest detail. All the work from design to completion was well within the timeframe we had hoped. In the end, we have a beautiful MBR well beyond our original expectations!"

"I’ve used Allen and his team on multiple projects. He is my go-to contractor because I can trust him to tell me what I need and what I don’t need to have done in a project. His prices may be higher than others but the quality is worth it. In this most recent project, Allen took my laundry area from concrete and concrete block, to a fully finished laundry room complete with new appliances, counters and cabinets for storage and folding, a space for drying clothes to hang, and a closed off utility space. Additionally, he changed a half-bath to a full bathroom with 5-ft shower. To do this, Allen, Jeff, and Ryan had to dig up the concrete floor to move pipes; had to replace copper piping, and reroute ductwork. In doing so, they found that my dryer had been venting into my ceiling rather than outside, which was a fire hazard. I am fortunate that they found this. As the project was wrapping up, I had them paint and add new flooring in the family room adjacent to the laundry and bathrooms. I also had them replace my backyard fencing, relocate the outside spigot and hose attachment. As with all of my projects, Allen’s the attention to detail was beyond compare. He kept me in the loop when problems or decisions need to be made."

"Note this review is for removing carpet and replacing with corelux floors in about 400 sq feet and recaulking and reglazing 2 bathrooms. Very professional and understanding of my budget needs. Juan was super patient with me; I modified the quote request about 10 times. His crew was kind, careful with clean up and ensuring they had drop cloths over as many areas as possible and always took their shoes off if walking on uncovered floor. They stuck to the timeline and budget. Couldnâ t be happier!"

"After a broken sewage pipe in our driveway meant we needed to re-do our basement bathroom, we knew the only company we would trust with it - was JVF. Jose and his team wowed us last year with a total renovation of our main floor bathroom. We were thrilled to be able to get on the JVF schedule - and that they would also tackle the mess a previous contractor left in our laundry room. Because of the sewage pipe break - we needed to do a full gut and renovation of our basement bathroom. This included breaking the foundation to re-lay drainage pipes, leveling the floor, replacing walls, as well as the usual bathroom renovation tasks. We are thrilled with the outcome - in the bathroom - and in the re-purposed laundry room (now an office and storage space) Jose and his team did an amazing job fixing the poor craftsmanship and issues from our other contractor - and exceeded our expectations in the basement bathroom. The created a gorgeous spa-like bathroom - and found space we didn't realize we had to create a laundry space - freeing up the other room for a much needed office! His team kept us informed during every step of the project, consulted with us on decision-making, troubleshooting issues (and in a 100 year old house, there are always unexpected issues!) The level of attention to detail, craftsmanship, and creative thinking to resolve "old house" issues make JVF our go-to for any construction project. This was our second project with JVF, and frankly - we couldn't be happier with the outcome! We already recommend Jose and his team to our friends and neighbors - and after their amazing fix in our dysfunctional laundry room - there is no way we will tackle a house renovation without them in the future!
