"I recently had a fence installed in my year from Jan Fence. I am very pleased. From the proposal process through the installation. Bob Slivka prepared our proposal and I must say it was the most professional set of documents I received from the number of proposals we requested from other competing vendors. The price was comparable to others but Bob went above and beyond what a customer expects. First he came to take measurements and brought samples, no other vendor did. Convinced me of choice of color by showing me what it would look like in my yard. After we had a surveyor come out, I asked him to come again to make sure which trees or bushes needed to be removed. Bob came again on a stormy evening. He was drenched and still helped us lay a rope line to define the area. He gave us some other ideas and also told us what to instruct the workers when they came to install the fence. The installers came and Jose and his crew were pleasant, professional and hard working. I was amazed how hard they worked to complete a long fence in one day. Some big boulders I couldn’t remove and assumed they would drill through were dug up and moved out of the way. Before the left they cleaned up everything and took all waste with them. They even rolled up my rope that outlined the fence location for me. "Hired them to do a concrete driveway (two and half cars wide from two cars wide) and a step up to front/side porch concrete underneath, with pavers on top. I had a blacktop driveway, concreate walkway, grass and 4 large bushes that needed to be removed before any work can be done. The staff is professional, efficient and friendly. Highly recommend!"

"I contacted Hector the day before we were supposed to have a big snow storm to get an estimate for snow removal. He told me he would arrive at my home that same day to look at the property and give me an estimate. He was punctual and gave me a written out estimate (not just verbal). They removed snow from the sidewalk, 2 driveways, 2 walkways and front steps. They also removed the snow from our car parked in the driveway. They did not shoot the snow at my neighbors' property, which I appreciate. The price was a little high, but his team did an excellent job and were professional and punctual. "Based on Angie's List rating, I chose to call Alfredo Landscaping for fall clean-up and weekly leaf blowing service at a private house with property under a quarter acre.  Unlike most contractors in my experience, someone actually answered the phone when I called; the principal of the company, in fact.  And in subsequent calls where I instead had to leave a voice mail, the call was returned promptly.  Also rare.  The attitude was very pleasant and professional, and they were very helpful.  Where the C rating comes in is that they ultimately did not take on the work, explaining to me that "big" project had come up and they no longer had the time to work on my property.  They referred me to another, smaller, contractor.  So they basically left me at square one. <br /> <br /> What I feel about Alfredo Landscaping is very much what I've experienced with contractors in general:  what they want is "big" accounts, and being a small homeowner makes it very difficult to find a contractor to take on the work you need and for a reasonable price based on the scope of a smaller job. <br /> <br /> At the end of the day, if you have a large private property or commercial property, or are a condo/co-op board looking for services, the more reputable, "professional" places like Alfredo Landscaping will be happy to do the work you need.  If you're a single family homeowner with a relatively small property, you'll either end up paying exorbitant out-of-scale prices if they take on your work at all, or you'll end up dealing with the smaller contractors who, again in my experience, are typically unreliable and whose work product is not so good. <br /> <br /> The other contractor they referred me to didn't work out either.  Smaller, perhaps, but ridiculously expensive."
