"I previously used Black Hat when I moved into my new home several months ago.  Nick fixed the old remote which was not working and cleaned the fireplace glass. He went over every detail about working this remote since we were unfamiliar with the fireplace. I had called Black Hat back in March because the old remote was not working.  Unfortunately the box{ which reads the remote} had a lot of corrosion. I asked Nick to replace the unit, thus giving me a new box and remote.  Again, he explained in detail how the remote works, how to avoid corrosion and programmed the remote so that the fireplace turns off when it reaches a certain temp. "Well, Frank delivered a heck of a lot more than what I was expecting. In addition to cleaning the chimney he: 1) emptied out the ashes from the basement, 2) fixed the metal screen in front of the fireplace so it opens and closes smoothly, 3) unstuck our gas valve that was stuck shut, 4) fixed the damper linkage so it closes all the way, 5) closed the damper (I had left it open for years), 60 visually inspected the chimney on the roof, 7) informed us our chimney cap was missing, and 8) sold us a chimney cap on the spot. He would have installed it for us, but coincidently, my roofer was coming later that day to check on the gutters, so I had the roofer install it. Frank literally did a top to bottom safety check on the entire fireplace/chimney system, and did a very thorough job. Highly recommend."

"It took a long time for them to come here. I was dealing with them last year. I was really upset because I waited for them. He came to the door and I didn't hear him knock. I don't have a bell. He never called me. I was really upset. They said it would take months and months for him to come back because he had so much work. That's exactly what happened. He did not get back here until April. He fixed it and he did a good job, but I'm afraid it didn't work. I don't think that was his fault. There is something wrong with the structure of the whole building."

"This was a large roof replacement. It took 2 days to remove the old roof and gutters, 2 days to install the new roof, and half a day to install the new gutters and downspouts. Overall was pretty happy with this company. We have used them for some small repairs on our old roof, but were tired of the constant repairs so just decided to get a new roof. It was a lot of money, but it was the middle quote (of the 3 we received) and has a good warranty. Guys working were professional, nice and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and did a larger cleanup once roof was completed. We did find some nails and other debris in the yard/garden area afterward, but none in the driveway which was great. Very easy to work with the office staff and the crew chief at the job site. Overall, I would highly recommend them. "

Joe Ruminski, the project estimator, was very responsive, will to thoroughly discuss the quote, professional, easy to get in contact with, and friendly. David and Dan, the project manager, were very responsive to meeting the schedule and following-up with me to ensure I was satisfied with the work. I signed the contract on Oct 11 and the roof was completed on Oct 25. I am so thankful that they were able to complete the roof in a timely manner before the rain and winter weather. I was very pleased with the efficiency of the crew and the wonderful job they did to cleanup. I would definitely recommend Black Rock Roofing. They also recommended a very reliable chimney replacement company that coordinated with the roof replacement."

"Technician was very professional and candid, but would not repair leak without installing an in-line valve due to liability issues. Quote for installing a valve ($600) was too high for me, so with technician's feedback/advice I decided to cap the line later myself at the T-junction in the basement (rather than installing a valve) since we don't actually use the fireplace gas line. I was disappointed that technician didn't do such a simple thing as capping the line himself for the service call fee, and maybe he would have capped it if he had the right sized cap on hand, but wasn't worth paying him to go get just a cap and return to install it at $80+/hr. Still, he was at our place for nearly an hour investigating the issue and discussing options, so at least we had his full attention and honest, informed opinion."

"The company replied promptly to my telephone message for an estimate. Their representative was very prompt, courteous, and provided a packet of information on chimney repairs et al.  He was efficient. I thought the estimate was fair for the amount of work required and I was not pressed for services I thought were not required at this time. The repairmen arrived as scheduled , were very courteous, and answered any questions I had. The repairs were completed as required, the chimney looks very good, and to date I am very happy with the job. <br />"

"Overall, the project went smoothly, at least in terms of Warm & Fuzzy's involvement in it. This was a big project. I was converting my home from a double back to a single-family layout, so all of the heating had to be tied into a single system. W&F removed both of the previous furnaces, replaced a significant amount of duct work, installed a new, single furnace for the entire house, and installed a central air unit, which was a new addition to the house. The summer of 2018 was the first summer in the house with central air, and what a difference it made! The house was far more comfortable and there was less damaging humidity in the house. The new furnace system has kept the house warm for 2 winters now. There was an additional contractor who was supposed to remove some duct work containing asbestos, but they blew me off repeatedly, which delayed the project. I do not hold W&F accountable for the other contractor's actions, nor does it impact my review for W&F. Everything was completed about a year and a half ago and there haven't been any issues since then."
