"This company was great. I highly recommend them. They got Bats out of our business and they are Western Bat Specialists! The crew was top-notch and the office was awesome to deal with. I have to say A+ service."

"I have been having pigeon issues for awhile and been using another company with no luck at all. I called Zepol Labs and spoke with Brent. Appointment was sent and Brent came out today, June 13. In no time, he had the area cleaned up and screened off. Took less than 45 minutes. Brent was extremely professional and had had awesome customer service. Looking forward to no pigeons! Thank you Brent"

"Absolutely The Best!! We started hearing noise from the crawl space under our floors that escalated in frequency and loudness into scratching and gnawing sounds. We called Golden State Critter Control and the owner was here within a few hours. He inspected from top to bottom, and found numerous breaches and holes in venting access to our house from the outside. We are on a zero-lot line where we can't see one exterior wall of the house (it faces along the neighbor's fenced-in yard), and after he contacted the owner to get permission to inspect, showed us that literally all of the crawl-space vent guards were broken through on that side. He offered us a variety of options based on what we wanted done, and for a very, very affordable price we opted for reinforcing attic vents on the roof, replacing all exterior ground-level vent grids, repairing a breach where an A/C hose's insulation had been gnawed through to gain entry, and also set traps in the crawl space (with weekly checks for a month) in case any critters were still around that might try to scratch their way around, in or out. He was able to do the work right then if we wanted, and we jumped at the chance! He was careful, thorough, and expert (the new mesh vent grates look very strong & were custom fit). He's very friendly and a great listener; quickly finding and showing us all the problem areas. And, he wore a protective mask all the way through to keep us safe. We'll be listening for any remaining activity or noise for the next few days and were encouraged to call him to come right back if needed to check it out prior to the weekly visits to follow-up and monitor the traps. Another great bonus: they return annually to give a free check-up/inspection. You can't go wrong with this great service: above and beyond expectations. We are very gratefully relieved with the responsiveness, thoroughness, pricing, and so amazed at what was discovered and remedied in such quick order. Thanks so much!"

"They were not able to eliminate the rats until the tenants that were part of the problem moved out
Their customer service was responsive when they thought they would be able to get more services for cleaning up after the issue. Once the cleaning was done they were difficult to get on the phone even though the rats were still present
They needed to do a better job identifying the source of the problem

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Pleasant Hill, CA

Bats slip through gaps as small as 1/4 inch, so your best defense is a thorough seal-up and a few simple habit tweaks. Start by caulking or screening every crack around chimneys, eaves, and vents. Swap dim porch bulbs for brighter LEDs or motion lights (bats dislike the glare), and consider an ultrasonic deterrent if they keep circling.

Finally, remove easy snacks—cover standing water and skip the nighttime bird-feeder refills. These steps go a long way toward keeping your home bat-free.

Standard homeowners’ insurance rarely pays for bat removal because insurers view it as routine maintenance. You might get partial help for guano cleanup or related repairs, but that varies by policy. Review your insurance policy carefully and contact your provider for a definitive explanation. Securing all entry points remains the homeowner’s responsibility to prevent future incursions.

The sweet spot for bat exclusion is late summer through spring. That window keeps you inside most state rules and protects baby bats that haven’t learned to fly yet. Removal activities are conducted when bats are less active, with some states permitting work from August through May and others ceasing removal in March. Consult a qualified bat removal specialist to confirm the valid timeframe for your area.

Spotting a dead bat can be unsettling, but a calm, careful approach keeps everyone safe. First, call your state wildlife office to report the find and ask about local rules. Snap a quick photo from a distance, then—wearing disposable gloves—place the bat in a sealed plastic bag for disposal as directed.

Wipe down nearby surfaces with disinfectant, wash your hands thoroughly, and schedule a pest-control pro to make sure no live bats (or harmful guano) remain hidden in the house.
