"I had a lighted medicine cabinet installed. He had to pull power from the ceiling. The job was done the day before the date scheduled by a phone call asking if they could come in 30 mins. Lucky I was home. Installer was informative and did a good job. I signed up for the $9.99 a month plan to see what it can save us in the future."

"Luis completed our sprinkler system job in an excellent mannor. There were issues with the system, but he stuck with it and when he was done it was working correctly. We would hire him again for other projects."

"They did multiple projects - a block wall planter, enlarged a driveway made of pavers, enlarged the front walk and front porch entrance with pavers, installed chain downspouts. Yavapai Landscaping was very easy to work with - they came when they said they would come and were no problems working with. They did everything we wanted done with no problems. They did the work exactly on budget. They were a breath of fresh air compared to some of the contractors we have hired. They were easy to contact. We were very satisfied with the work. We highly recommend them."

"Aspen Landscaping, owned by Cory Pratt, is the best I have ever used. He and his employers did a fabulous job on my back yard. They were very professional and reasonable. Out of 3 estimates, he was the most honest, complete in his estimates, and just wonderful to work with."

"Garth and Andy from Ponderosa Electric came to my house and reviewed my projects. They were very knowledgeable and had great ideas for me. They directed me to Home Depot and who to talk to there for my supplies. They are coming back to do the work next week. Although Garth had a medical issue and couldn’t be here, Andy was very capable. He installed all lights, tested them, made sure I was happy, and cleaned up any mess. He was polite and professional. Even though he was working solo, he assured me he would take whatever time was needed to get the work done correctly, and he did. I am very pleased and would recommend them."

"Robert and his crew did a great job installing artificial turf and paver borders. Robert contacted me after I submitted a project request through HomeAdvisor and was at my home within a few days to go over my project. He provided an estimate within a day and his estimate was the most competitive of the 4 other companies I had out. Often times you get what you pay for, but not in this case. Robert was patient with me and came out to my house at least twice to bring samples of artificial turf and go over the pros and cons of each sample. Once a decision was made on the turf, Robert's crew began my project two weeks after they had wrapped up another job that they already had in progress. The job was completed within 2 days on Friday. I wasn't home to watch the crew work during the turf and border install as I was working as well, but my retired neighbors told me that once the crew started working they busted their butts and took minimal to no breaks. The excavated dirt from my front yard was transferred to my backyard to level out an area. The crew returned after the weekend on Monday to work the dirt and I had a chance to meet them. They were prompt, polite, and professional. Time will tell on how well they respond to any post completion problems should I have any, but I don't expect to. If the way they handled the install is any indication, I don't foresee any issues. I have a backyard landscaping project in the near future and plan on using R.E. and Sons Landscaping for that project as well."

"Followed up quickly, called and made a site visit to determine what we needed and activated the sprinkler-drip lines, checked the timer box. I had a quote in a day and they scheduled our service a few days later. Removed a dead tree, shaved level a tree stump and pruned the other trees and shrubs. Check all the drip lines and set the timer. Good communicator, very reasonable price for four hours of steady labor. We will continue with Ayala's services..."

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Prescott Valley, AZ

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
