"Called them yesterday after getting referral on Angi's list and was able to arrange an appointment for today. During my phone call I specifically stated that prior to cleaning the carpets I had one small area (about 2 inches) that needed to be re-stretched. I was assured on the phone that this would be no problem and that it would be taken care of the next day. I also asked if they took VISA and was assured they did. The technicians called and showed up on time, they were very professional and explained the processes used and the prices and why they were different than those stated on the phone. They also said they knew NOTHING about fixing carpet and that was usually their boses' responsibility and they were unable to do this part. They stated that I would have to call the company back and request this service again...not good customer service.... <br /> <br /> Carpet cleaning went well and my white master bedroom carpet looks amazing! My couch too looks great. At completion of services they requested payment and I brought out my VISA card.... They were unable to run it due to weather and said that their boss would call me later to get the number....I got a call about 30 minutes after the service crew had left stating that their boss required a check and that they would be back in a few minutes to pick it up. Needless to say this was not our agreed upon method of payment, not to mention that the charge went up from a little over $200 (quoted price) to over $500! Needless to say, I find this to be very poor customer relations, not to mention a potential financial hardship for some people. <br /> <br /> UPDATE: They did try and contact me about changing my payment method after the fact (and this review).... <br /> <br /> HOWEVER>>>> <br /> <br /> After looking at the white master bedroom carpet on a sunny day as well as looking at the couch....NEITHER were clean! We paid ALOT extra for "urine" removal and all the spots on the white carpet re-appeared the following day. We paid over $200 to get a microfiber couch cleaned and it too still looked dirty in daylight... <br /> <br /> Use this expensive service at your own risk.... <br /> <br />"

"When I first visited Carpet One, I wasn't sure what I wanted or what Carpet One could do for me. Neil Holloway was very helpful in giving me a brief explanation of different types of carpets and showing me around the store. He was really good at describing exactly how they could create a rug from their carpeting and what different options would cost me. He then left me to look around on my own, which I really appreciated. When I picked the type of carpet I wanted to use, I still wasn't sure about the color, so he let me take the sample home with me to figure out which color would look best in my living room. (And it turned out, the color I was originally leaning towards clashed with my wall color, and another color was actually a perfect match. Taking the samples home was crucial!!) Before I left the store that first time, he gave me a quote and that was the exact price that he charged me when I picked up the rug! It was ready 2 weeks later. The rug is the exact dimensions I ordered, so it fits perfectly. The color is exactly what the sample looked like. The rug is high quality and the binding looks very professionally done. Two pieces had to be bound together to create my unique dimesions, but the seam is completely hidden and unoticeable. Overall, the price was very reasonable, the employee was very knowledgable and helpful, the quote was given to me right away and never changed, there were a large variety of carpets to choose from, the rug was made very quickly, and the finished product was a high quality and exactly what I pictured it would look like. I was very impressed with my entire experience with Carpet One. <br />"

.. COST IS DETERMINED BY THE JOB. TRAVEL CHARGE Min. $ 50.00 \nEMERGENCY SERVICE CHARGE $125 - $250 \n \n * 1 room $ 55.00 \n \n * 2 rooms and hall $ 99.95 \n \n * 3 rooms and hall $149.95 \n \nCost depends on the area cleaned, method of cleaning and condition of the carpet. \n \nThink about how dirty your carpet is, when you last had it cleaned, and if you have any spots or stains that need to be removed. It costs a certain amount of money to bring a technician, truck and supplies to every job, no matter what the size. \n \nFor JCS, that minimum charge is $55.00. \n \nIICRC Standards require dry vacuuming, pre-spotting, pretreatment of carpet fibers, hot water extraction cleaning, application of protector, if requested, and grooming of the carpet. \n \nSpots such as red stains, rust and printer inks etc … require additional treatment above and beyond basic cleaning. The cost of these services is $5 per square foot. If the stains can be removed over time can tell. \n \n \nThis cleaning is priced based on the amount of time and material required. Carpet protector, such as Scotchguard or Teflon, are $.35 per square foot, while steps cost $3.00 each. \n \nComplete estimates can be done over the phone and then confirmed by the technician when they arrive. \n \n \nAt minimum, your carpet should be professionally cleaned once per year. This is a minimum and you should expect the carpet to need a corrective or restorative cleaning. JCS recommends monthly cleanings for high-traffic areas, and quarterly cleanings for medium-traffic areas. This type of program is a maintenance program which will keep your building looking professional while prolonging the life of the carpet. \nKeep in mind that carpet cleaning cannot correct or stop wear. Wear is, in fact, the loss of fiber. \nWhat method is best? \nThere are several types of carpet cleaning, depending on what your needs are. For pure cleaning ability, Truck-Mounted Hot Water extraction works best. For appearance and lowest cost, bonnet cleaning works best. JCS will work with you to select the best method to suit your needs. \nJCS adheres to IICRC standards when performing professional, on-location commercial carpet cleaning.

"The floor is beautiful and they did a very good job. However, I would not hire him again because he came to do the job together with his young son and another young man. While they were working together Billy was really angry and rude to the youngsters. He would say, "Quit wining and you'll do a better job!" I was home with one of my girlfriends and we were very embarrassed and uncomfortable. His palpable anger in reprimanding the young men in a public setting was just not right. If someone has to speak to a child that way I would think they would do so in private. He was very degrading to the children. I expected that he would accept credit cards. He told me after half way completing the work that he does not and only accepts cash. I feel he should have let me know before he arrived when we spoke on the phone. My husband had to leave to the bank to get the cash."

"Laura came and did the estimate within 48 hours of initial contact. Flooring was paid for and ordered the day of the estimate. Flooring was delivered within 48 hours of order and flooring was installed 48 hours later. The installers moved the furniture in the bedroom and moved the appliances in the kitchen. When they were moving the oven out Wes noticed that there was a problem with the wiring and he went above and beyond to fix that wiring so that my mom, who is a recent widow, was safe and sound. He was concerned that there may be a fire and he would not leave until he had fixed the problem for her. All this at no extra charge!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rogersville, AL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
