"Excellent experience from beginning to end. Chris, the sales rep, came fully prepared with samples, installation details and photos, price estimates for 4 different shingles and options, and contract. Walked all around the house telling me how and what they would do from start to finish. No pressure. Two other companies had to be asked for all of this and weren't nearly as professional. Plus Vaught was about 10% lower in price. I was contacted a week before installation began to finalize and coordinate. On first day was introduced personally to the construction foreman by one of the Vaught family and an office manager. Foreman and crew arrived promptly every morning and were always working. They left for lunch but if they were here they were working. They replaced a trim board that had rotted at the end where the roof butted against a flat asphalt roof. The foreman modified this interface so the board ended above the asphalt and the roof was well sealed underneath, fixing the problem. I didn't ask him to do this, he just did it because it was the right thing to do. No charge. They cleaned up every day and went around the yard with magnets to pick up nails and scrap metal. I'm very satisfied would highly recommend them."

They worked hard (at the end of the day) and cleaned a very, very dirty fireplace on a new home we had just purchased.  I don't think it had ever been cleaned (house is 20 years old).  It was a fire hazard and we are happy that it is now usable (and safe). <br />"

"I needed my Mother's house prepped to be sold. Absolute Improvement was hired to repair nail holes and paint, her entire 8 room house. We were happy with the job and how quickly it was completed. While waiting for the house to sell, the retainer wall on the patio collapsed during a heavy rain. Again, we contacted Absolute Improvement, they hauled away the old wall debris and constructed a much more beautiful wall in its place. What great guys! and the reasonable price impressed me too. We'll call them again when our own house needs repair. Mom's house sold quickly with the new attractive retaining wall that really improved the look of the patio."

We had some questions about the roof and they corrected that in a matter of one day. All of our expectations were met."

"We were called when they were ahead of schedule to check if it was ok to come ahead of time. Inspectors were professional and thorough. We recently purchased the house and have been finding weird/dangerous DIY performed by the previous owners at every turn so we weren't suprised when they notified us that the chimney was unsafe to use. "On one hand, Artown was very good about securing a payment from the insurance company--the insurance company denied our hail damage claim initially, but Artown went to bat for us (we clearly had hail damage) and got us a new roof. They did a good job communicating with the insurance company for us. For that, I am grateful. <br /> From there, things went more sour. The installation of the roof went OK. We have an old house with some tight corners near dormers, and they didn't really catch the seams flush so there is a bit of warping on the shingles (minor issue). The work crew only had one person that spoke (choppy) English, which made communication difficult when a small issue arose during roofing, but everyone was professional and worked hard. <br /> When I contacted Artown about a few small gaps in the roof near tight spots, it took forever to get someone out to check it, and when he came, I was not impressed with his professionalism (though he was very friendly). He said the issues were due to construction of our old house, which is possible, but I was not totally sure it was true. Our home inspection from the previous year mentioned no such thing. I got the sense there were issues of communication in the company, which were strengthened by the questionable way the needed repairs were discussed. After promising to come by early the next day and do the repairs for cash (off the company books?), he never showed. <br /> I'm going to call the company today and report the strange behavior of the warranty/inspection person. Overall though, I feel I've had enough experience with Artown to recommend you go with someone else. <br /> <br /> <br />"
