"We had a GREAT experience with the carpet center outlet. Salesman knew their stuff. Its locally owned and operated....so we got to speak with the owner. We had 4500 square feet of floor space that needed covered (for our new home) so we did our research! The Carpet Center has GREAT prices! They are a smaller company (but thats a good thing) b/c we figured overhead is low...we got AMAZING prices! But even though their small they still had all the stuff we were looking for (natural hickory wide plank, glass tile, sculptured carpet, etc, etc)....Rick was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions and was extremely helpful. The product choice was great. The installation was good too. The installers were in and out in the specified time. They were courteous too. <br /> Overall, we are very pleased with our experience and know where we'll be headed the next time we need flooring. One thing worth mentioning is that they are harder to find. They are actually located behind the carwash (on Seminole). So you have to know what your looking for....but in our experience....they were worth finding:) If you need flooring.....go find The Carpet Center!! <br />"

"I have dogs that get on the couch when I'm not home. They have a doggy door so they are in and out a lot and track my carpet. Champion gets all the stains out. They are very cleans and make sure everything is back where I left it. They always leave a thank you card and a small room deodorizer or potpourri."

"Buddy's Carpet Care was listed on Angie's List and was recommended by a colleague where I work. I filled out a request for an estimate and they were very easy to work with on setting up an appointment to come give an estimate. The week of the estimate and service we had a snow/sleet storm and I had to reschedule the cleaning. They were quick to accommodate my change even though this is right before Christmas and people were getting ready for Christmas parties. <br /> Buddy's called the day before to make sure everything was still OK to come on Wednesday. They called again just before coming over to clean to make sure I was home. The technician arrived on time as promised. He was clean, neat, polite and personable. He came in and surveyed what needed to be done and proceeded to hook up the water hose from an outside faucet to his truck. <br /> The carpet in this house was a very light beige cut pile carpet and had not been cleaned in 2 years. The teenage daughter frequently has friends over and there were areas that were heavily soiled with spilled food and drinks. He vacuumed the areas to be cleaned with a Dyson vacuum. Then he performed pre-treatment and then spot treatment on particularly soiled areas and then cleaned the worst area first (teen daughter's bedroom). I had already cleaned and moved as much furniture as could be moved throughout the house. He used two machines, a large rotary scrubber (like an industrial buffer for floors) with steam and water and suction and a smaller hand tool that also included the steam and water. <br /> He had to move a few pieces of furniture that couldn't be removed from the room and after cleaning the carpet, put the furniture up on styrofoam blocks so the carpet wouldn't be stained by the legs of the furniture. Areas that didn't come clean right away he used spot cleaning again and cleaned them again. <br /> He was very careful of furniture and insuring that nothing was damaged during the cleaning. After finishing the cleaning process, he came back with what looked like a cross between a rake and a comb and and quot;groomedand quot; the newly cleaned carpet. When he left, there was nothing but clean, fresh-smelling carpet and a sense of wonder at how clean the carpet had become! He also gave a bound booklet on keeping the carpet clean and what other services they perform. <br /> The carpet is now clean and nearly new looking again. I was astonished at the quality of their work and their professionalism. I would recommend Buddy's Carpet Care to anyone! When I need the carpet cleaned again, I'll certainly call them! They are serious about providing the best care possible and have followed up to see if everything was satisfactory and if there was anything they could have done better. They are home-town people taking care of neighbors with professional tools and equipment and showing pride in their work. I couldn't ask for more! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Springfield, MO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
