He came ($125 for inspection) and we saw the bat, and he identified a likely entry point, based on finding a few droppings outside the house. His initial quote was for a thorough inspection of all soffits and roof ridges, and stopping any entry points, with a 2-year guarantee, $1700 (it's a big house). I looked at the soffit ends and ridge vent from inside the attic, and used a USB camera ($30 with 45 ft cable!) on a very long pole to look at the likely entry point from the outside. It seemed that I had only 4 likely entry points. I negotiated a lower price to address only those four locations, with no guarantee. He put one-way bat doors on two spots, to be removed later, and plugged the other two spots. The bat is gone, and I'm happy."
